Deck Description

Trying to decide which deck to buy. Which one is the best? This one or

http://www.mtgvault.com/jessie/decks/goblin-death/

Going to run some sample runs. Will play 5 turns with each deck, over and over, and record how much damage each deck dishes out each game. Of course, the damage will be based on the fact that my opponent doesn't play a single spell against me.

How to Play

This one plays with speed and mana. Running less goblins than my first Goblin deck. It is less powerful but quicker.

Idea is to play Warren Instigator first turn.

Running mana ramp to play Krenko and Siege-Gang Commander early on...even if they nuke my Instigator.

Bushwhacker and Loyalist are for playing around the 4th turn to pump up my goblins already in play.

Furnace of Rath is nice. It doubles all of my damage to opponent. It doubles my x direct damage spells and my weak little goblins.

Banefire and Bonfire of the Damned are my finishing touches.

Trying to balance quick creatures, with x damage, and accelerated mana.

Deck discussion for Goblin Death, 2

Please guys. Tell me what you think. This deck or my first goblin deck:

http://www.mtgvault.com/jessie/decks/goblin-death/

I have enough money to buy one of the decks.

Give advice and help and I will do the same on one of your decks.

Okay. First 3 sample games were played. This is the results so far.

Goblin Death, 1. Deck number 1.
First 3 games were as followed:
Game 1=36 damage. Game 2=19 damage. Game 3=38 damage.
Total damage=93

Goblin Death, 2. Deck number 2.
First 3 games were as followed:
Game 1=29 damage. Game 2=14 damage. Game 3=8 damage.
Total damage=51
As you can see so far, Goblin Death, 1. Deck number 1 is doing better.

I would rather tell against which deck you have played, and how the deck did. Counting damage is cute, but not really the point. You could do 100 damage against a lifegain deck and nevertheless loose.

Okay. I could do that. You could pick a deck for me to play both Goblin decks against. I could do sample draws with all of the 3 decks (the 2 goblin decks and their opponent).

And only person I play against is magiccontroller. And he usually owns me with his discard deck:

My other goblin deck is only legal in vintage. This deck is legal in vintage and legacy (not sure of the difference...when I use to play there were only two legalities).

And I did 3 unrealistic games with each Goblin deck...where I tried to do as much damage by the end of Turn 5 as I could assuming the opponent never played a single card against me. But you are right, that is a crappy way to see how good a deck is.

So, if you would like, I could play sample runs against magiccontroller's discard deck or you could pick out one of my 9 other decks and I could take turns playing 3 games against the deck with each of my Goblin decks.

So you want to be rather fast. Some changes I would do then:
+1 Goblin Bushwhacker
-1 Goblin Warchief
+2 Goblin Chieftain
+1 Krenko, Mob Boss
+2 Legion Loyalist
- 1-4 Siege-Gang Commander
- 0-4 Simian Spirit Guide
+ 1-3 Goblin Lackey
-4 Banefire
+4 Goblin War Strike
-1 Bonfire of the Damned

And see if you really need those ramp-spells to speed your game.
Suggestions:
Boggart Shenanigans, Stingscourger, Infiltration Lens

Furthermoore you need to pack some heat against artifacts (Ensnaring Bridge) and creatures with toughnes >4 (Guiltfeeder) into your sideboard.
The first is easy enough, use "Ancient Grudge" (splash some R/G duallands to make shure you can use flachback ability), "Echoing Ruin", "Goblin Tinkerer", "Shattering Spree" or "Smelt"
To remove some stronger creatures you could use "Goblin Grenade", or spash black (some good goblins there too) and use removals spells like "Go for the Throat", "Terminate" and "Dreadbore" or use red spells like "Char", "Guerrilla Tactics" or "Flame Javelin"

Thanks for the suggestions!!

All the suggestions you just mentioned are pretty much in my other Goblin Deck.
http://www.mtgvault.com/jessie/decks/goblin-death/

Right now I am playing my first game with Goblin Death #1 vs his Discard deck. Not looking good for my little Goblins. His very 1st turn he is playing (me playing for him) Dark Ritual into Nihil Stone, Blackmail (which he chooses Siege to discard), then plays Surgical Extraction to remove all of my Siege's from the game. All of that on turn 1.

This is my monoR goblin deck: http://www.mtgvault.com/muktol/decks/monor-tribal-goblins/
The only chance to survive this would be to pack enough threads so that one is removed the rest still stays dangerous.
Do you want to play only against this discard deck, or against something other too?
I think you will have to add some carddraw like "Infiltration Lens" (Wardriver/ Lackey equiped with lens can be a tough problem)
Another version you could try could be "Æther Vial" (if a creature is targeted with discard -> activate as response and play the card in his turn) and "Chalice of the Void", which could REALLY ruin his day, if he uses too many spells with the same converted manacosts.

My Warren Instigator and Goblin Lackey is just helping him. I am emptying my own damn hand for Nihil Stone to do 5 damage to me every turn. And he won the first game by playing Ensnaring Bridge on his 3rd turn. My hand was empty on turn 4. I had, on turn 4, 1 goblin lackey, 2 warren instigators, 1 Krenko, 1 Recruiter, and 8 1/1 goblin tokens in which I could do absolutely crap with!!! And was about to take 5 damage every turn from his Nihil Stone. I would of lost.

I like your suggestions. Chalice of the Void could hurt his deck, for sure. I would play it for x to equal 1 mana. It would kill his Nihil Stone, Blackmail, Surgical Extraction, and Dark Ritual.

This is a dumb question, but if I wanted Chalice of the Void to equal 1 mana...and it has two X symbols in the casting cost...how much would I pay? 1 mana?

And smelt looks really awesome against his insane Ensnaring Bridge.

Do you know of any red card to kill Enchantments? His Nihil Stone is killing me way faster than his Guiltfeeder (believe it or not).

I added to my Sideboard:
4 Chalice of the Void
4 Smelt
4 Shattering Spree
3 Goblin Grenade(s) to:

Chalice of the Void: {X}{X} and 1 counter = cc2
Enchantment removal is nearly only white or green. If you manage to stay alive long enough, you don't have to attack: "Goblin War Strike" or "Furystroke Giant" can do the trick without attaking

In my first goblin deck (which looks like a better deck/match) I am running lightning bolts, war strike, and chain lightnings. Figure i could use those to help kill him directly. He is only running 4 guiltfeeders as the only creatures in his deck. If I can get rid of his Nihil Stone or Ensnaring Bridge...then I have a chance.

Your suggestions all look really nice!

I think a second turn Chalice of the Void (if he does not make me discard it) for x=1 will extremely slow him down. Give me an extra 2 turns, probably, before his Nihil Stone kills me.

Smelt and Shattering Spree will kill his Ensnaring Bridge (if he does not make me discard them), allowing me to attack.

I could take out the 4 Chain Lightnings (since he is only playing 4 creatures, I have them in the deck to take out any chump blockers preventing Lackey to cause combat damage) to add in 4 Goblin Grenades. The Grenade could kill his Guiltfeeder.

I may have a chance after all.

Will, tomorrow, add in the new suggestions (not sure what I will take out for the new 8 to 12 cards) and test the deck out again.

http://www.mtgvault.com/jessie/decks/goblin-death/ Any suggestions on what you would take out so I can add the new cards?

One more question. If I play Chalice of the Void preventing him from playing spells that cost 1 mana. Could he still sac 2 life to play Surgical Extraction?

Against the discard of artefact hate you could pack some duallands (3-4) into your sideboard, or some 'pay 1 mana, add 1 mana of any color' lands into your mainboard to use "Ancient Grudge"
No, because the spells converted mana-costs are what counts, and those stay the same, even if you have an effect that says "XYZ spells cost ZYX less to cast"

Goblin Recruiter
Goblin Ringleader
Goblin Wizard
Those would be my choice to remove, but normaly I don't play legacy, and thus don't know much about those cards ;)
My Goblin deck utilizes carddrwa and no tutors to play.

Yes he is, good catch there. He can definitely add lots of mana very fast. He would be good to play x spells with.
