Deck Description

Wizard of Oz theme, for my daughter. So you better like it!!
30 bucks...so sorta Budget. I know you Magic Vault guys like budget decks.

Lions, Tigers, and Bears! Oh My!!

How to Play

Pretty simple, guys. Deck does have 7 Lions, 8 Tigers, and 8 Bear cards.
Designed around Threshold. Using Explore, Scythe Tiger, Abolish, Giant Growth, and Harrow to feed my graveyard.

What that does is help pump up/feed: Springing Tiger, Werebear, and Grizzly Fate.

I also have Explore/Harrow to give consistency with my mana base and to provide balance with Scythe Tiger. Also, Explore/Harrow help pay for Grizzly Fate's flashback and to pay for Fleecemane Lion's monstrosity.

Giant Growth and Gaea's Anthem pumps up your creatures.

Abolish for artifact/enchantment hate (paying alternate casting cost feeds threshold too).

Cool deck though-.

Yep, added for both Soldier333 and NothernernWarlord, Grizzly Bear. Who knew The Bear had such a cult following!!

He might be able to take the powerful Storm Crow!!!

THE GREAT AND HOLY CROW? Never. But the bears may be able to reach something about 25% of The Crow's might, which is incredible. Some other cards that are that close to The Crow's might are:

Chimney Imp - 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999% of The Crow's might.

Razor Boomerang, Chimney Imp's Ultimate Weapon of Destruction - 90% of The Crow's might.

Boggart Forager - 50% of The Crow's might

Cyplopean Snare - 50% of The Crow's might

(I avoid using all the cards above and few others in my decks since they are completely overpowered. It is not fun to win too easily, right?)

Definitely will check it out.

I need to look into doing more themed decks. Great way to refresh Magic...instead of making the same old Goblin deck over and over. I mean, not to sound like i am bragging, but how many people have thought to do a deck based on the Wizard of Oz?

Have one on here...that i stopped working on, i think it is on this site. Based on Monster Mash song.

With Percy Jackson...i tried to do Harry Potter. The Houses.
I did a Slytherin Deck. But Ravenclaw proved too difficult.

Yep, and Middle Earth could be tackled too. As vaan104 suggested.

Magic actually did the Aladdin theme, themselves!

Good concept! Maybe a bit too low on creatures, though. I would add Cummune with the Gods - it gives you a creature and puts 5 cards total into the graveyard. You could even choose to not take that creature, putting 6 cards into the grave. You could also use Grasslands instead of Sunpetal Grove.

Consider the following instead of Giant Growth:
Aggressive Urge (adds trample and cantrips - faster threshold)
Groundswell (has threshold itself)
Predator's Strike (fits better flavour wise)

Please check my new creation out, I need help:

Hell, it was only suggestions for 2 replacements. For you, Mr. Puschkin...i consider that a successful deck for me! :)

0

Not only that, Puschkin said "good concept" and *gasp* gave the deck a Like ... must be christmas already.

No offense Puschkin, but that is incredible.

2
Posted 05 June 2014 at 17:18

I second that! But it is a good thing...like Puschkin, I just don't want people to like my decks if they are crappy. I want to make my decks better. And the best way for that to happen is if people give honest opinions and honest advice.

Oh yeah, go Storm Crow!

And you forgot Rod of Ruin!!! That Artifact is brutal!!

Joking aside, me and my old friends would always run copies of Rod of Ruin in our decks, for bragging rights, on the off chance that we killed each other using it!

But it is what it is.
A deck that has nothing but creatures in it.

Does liking a deck even serve any purpose? I mean, does it affect any of the lists like "hot decks"? I always thought those are compiled by the number of replies they get.

0

I have heard, to get a hot deck...a deck has to be in the new decks and then receive 4 likes.
But honestly not sure.
I simply like decks that I recognize, think is solid, or like the idea of.
Pox decks seem fun.

Don't say things like that variable. Possum has the right way of thinking. Often people think with selfish ways in order to gain more reputation, deck views, deck likers and commentors.

But in the other hand, as I already said back in Entire Deck made of Creatures, there's no need to be that rude Possum. Vaan was just trying to show his token deck in which he got inspiration from me.

1

i'll just say that its rude and uncalled for then. and id say that my previous comment isnt wrong in its mark.

That comment was just pretty rude... and I... I don't like people being rude to each other...
You know, Vault is my safe haven from all the horrible things of my life, and that's why I'm ready to do anything to make it better place for everyone to be.

Didn't want to be offensive to you variable. I'm sorry.

0

its cool you werent the one being offensive. i tend to say what i think with rarely an edit button so what possum said erked me just a bit.

0
Posted 14 June 2014 at 19:52

being a mediator isnt offensive in the least. but i stand that possum should grow up a bit. as fas as advertising thats slightly whay the vault is for when your making your decks public. people do that to get feedback whether good or bad and it doesnt hurt to "ask" for feedback which vaan104 politely asked about.

I do not play yogioh...so this is an honest question, is that a real card?

And actually, a well liked deck on this site, has pikachu (i think) as the main win condition. Pretty sure i am not making that up. The guy has pikachu in the deck, and is playing a magic card that reads, "add any mana to your mana pool." And he is adding thunder mana...or some crap.

Maybe i am mistaking, and it is on another site. Because I don't even think pokemon/yugioh cards are options on this site.

Hydra thought i was stoned! I guess for good reasons, who puts a pikachu in a Magic deck? lol.

Just curious, is Yugioh played close to the same way as Magic? I remember back in the early 2000s they had over a dozen card playing games, like Magic. Not sure how many survived/are still played nowadays.

0
Posted 18 June 2014 at 17:35

not even close. it has similar mechanics (trample = piercing, exile = banished), but it plays vastly different. a good example is that it is MUCH easier to remove cards from the game and get them back. not needing mana is a plus, but the field size limit really hurts the game sometimes in my opinion.
