Deck Description

Tolarian Entrancer.
Steal your creatures and use them against you!

100 bucks. But take out the Maze of Iths to reduce the deck price to 35 bucks.

How to Play

Tolarian Entrancer is the key here. Go up and read what he does. Whenever he is blocked he steals the opponent's creature that blocked. Super cool, right?

First...you are asking yourself some questions:
Question 1: Jessie, what if your opponent chooses to not block the Tolarian Entrancer?
Answer: Lure and Irresistible Prey makes your opponents HAVE TO BLOCK Tolarian Entrancer!

Question 2: What if your opponent is smart and decides to attack every turn with all of his creatures, thus not having any creatures for Tolarian Entrancer to block?
Answer: Jangling Automaton untaps all of your opponent's creatures when he attacks.

Question 3: Okay, okay, but what if your opponent has no creatures in his deck, how is Tolarian Entrancer going to help you?
Answer: Beast Within. It kills the opponent's best permanent, but gives him a 3/3 creature. No worries, I just steal it! Forbidden Orchard, every time I tap it for any color mana I want, my opponent gets a 1/1 creature that I can steal.

Question 4: You talk about stealing 5 1/1 creatures by attacking with 1 11/1 Tolarian Entrancer...but how does he survive 5 damage and how does the 5 1/1 creatures survive the attack? Sounds dumb, Jessie.
Answer: Math of Ith and Gaseous Form. Both of these cards prevent all combat damage to Tolarian Entrancer and to all of the creatures that block him.

Question 5: You keep talking about this Tolarian Entrancer guy, but what if you don't draw him?
Answer: Muddle the Mixture is the Search Engine that gets you Tolarian Entrancer in your hand.

Question 6: What if they try to sack/destroy/nuke/exile your Tolarian Entrancer?
Answer: Bounce him to your hand with Disperse, and he lives to see another day.

Question 7: Umm, Jessie, what if they get lucky and exile all copies of Tolarian Enrancer, you do know they make cards like that, right?
Answer: Hunted Phantasm is already a 4/6 unblockable creature, but as back up and Win Condition #2 is Stuffy Doll. For each damage done to him, he does that much damage to target opponent. So pop a Lure on him. Attack with him, and let the fun begin!

Question 8: I am running out of questions, but how are you going to draw all of these cards that you just mentioned?
Answer: Infiltration Lens can draw you tons of cards, in this deck. Picture this. You have a Tolarian Entrancer enchanted with Gaseous Form and Infiltration Lens. Your opponent has 3 creatures. You attack with Tolarian Entrancer. This is what happens. You draw 6 cards and your Taunting Elf lives to see another day, plus you get to steal their creatures!! Very brutal.

Glad to answer all of your questions. I hope you like it.

Edit: Kazzong recommended several good cards:

Forbidden Orchard. IT secures my mana base while giving my opponent a 1/1 creature, every time i tap it, that Tolarian Entrancer can steal. Good stuff!

Xantid Swarm was also added. It is awesome against blue hate and general disruption that my Tolarian Entrancer would face.

Sheltering Ancient. For 2 mana i get a 5/5 with trample! Very nice. Only downfall is that I have to keep putting +1/+1 counters on my opponent's creatures. But guess what, I am just going to steal their creatures anyways, right? Win win!!

Beast Within. For 3 mana I kill their best permanent and my opponent gets a free 3/3 creature. No worries, I just steal it from him!

Love the use of jangling automaton. Very cool. :). Only suggestion I might have is throwing in forbidden orchard. :)

Yeah, I figured...if your opponent keeps attacking with all of his creatures, every turn, then Tolarian Entrancer is useless. Attacking with a Jangling Automaton and Tolarian Entrancer on the same turn ensures you get the chance to steal some creatures.

The Orchard card, very tricky indeed. Where did you see that one?

Thinking maybe Fog Bank is the weak card in this deck. It has no synergy/doesn't combine with any of the other cards. May take it out and add green cards, to better balance out my mana occurrence. Not sure what to add in...or what I am missing in the deck. Could put the Naturalize in, for casual play. Or maybe something else, anyone have any suggestions?

I found forbidden orchard a LONG time ago... I was trying to find lands that added any color. Settled on city of brass instead. But I think that orchard fits here incredibly well. :)

Also here are a few cards that you might find interesting.

Xantid swarm, bramblesnap, joven's ferrets, sheltering ancient, dolmen gate, sacred prey. And there are a few others as well. But I got to go for a bit.

Also a bit curious about taunting elf. Why do you want it to be blocked?

Taunting Elf. Idea was that I found myself desperately needing a first turn drop. And I had a lot of blue mana cards already in the deck, and very little green cards. I thought maybe, with Taunting Elf, it would be another card that I could use with Infiltration Lens and Gaseous Form.

Taunting Elf + Infiltration Lens + Gaseous Form equals lots of draw power.
But maybe it doesn't really work, because my Tolarian Entrancer is suppose to be stealing all of their creatures anyways. That is 6 mana total to draw cards.

Same issue with the Fog Bank...not sure why i added him. Originally i thought early game creature protection. He could keep creatures from hurting me. But again, my Entrancer is suppose to steal all their creatures.

Will definitely look at some of your suggestions!
Thanks for the advice, as always.

Edit: Changes made. Xantid Swarm and Sheltering Ancient in. Taunting Elf and Fog Bank out.

What about Beast Within?!

Just found this guy! That could be brutal, right? Destroy one of their permanents and then steal their 3/3 creature!

What would you take out?

Beast within is an excellent removal card.

And with Tolarian Entrancer...the negative side of Beast Within (the opponent getting a 3/3 creature for free) isn't too bad when you consider you can steal him.

But is it better than Hunted Phantasm? A 4/6 unblockable that gives you a chance to steal 5 1/1 creatures. Or Beast Within? A card that is going to kill your opponent's very best card on the field, and give you a chance to steal a 3/3 creature. Really hard to say.

Ah, but beast within destroys anything, not just creatures. :)

Which do you think is better?
Hunted Phantasm
Beast Within

I would say to run at least 1 beast within. Regardless of the phantasm.

Choose the Beast Within.
Being able to destroy any permanent they have on the 3rd turn is brutal! Game changing. Especially it being a Green card! Nuke a land to gain speed/tempo. Nuke an Artifact or Enchantment. Very good stuff.

Yeah, particularity with the orchard I am sure that the opponent will have plenty of creatures for you to steal.

Question:

Master Biomancer and Joraga Warcaller.

What happens in this situation?

1) Turn 4 play Master Biomancer.
2) Turn 5 play Joraga Warcaller and kick it twice when it comes into play (total of 5 mana).

What are both of their offenses/defenses?
How does the kicker effect, if at all, the Biomancer's offense/defense?

Vice versa:

1) Turn 5 I play Joraga Warcaller and kick him twice. He is a 3/3. Correct?
2) Turn 6. I play Master Biomancer. What is he? A 5/7. Correct?

Ok, play biomancer first and kick warcaller twice and he comes in with 4 counters. He then pumps biomancer up by 5.

Playing warcaller first will make him a 3/3, and pump up biomancer by 3 when played. Technically it would be best to play a warcaller then biomancer, and then another warcaller. :). I am curious as to know how two warcallers would pump each other.

So, Warcaller would be a 5/5.
The Biomancer 6/8

Is that correct?

Yes, that is correct. :)

For poops and giggles. IF i played a second Warcaller, also kicking him twice, what would be the outcome?

1st Warcaller 7/7?
Biomancer 8/10?
2nd Warcaller. Super confusing here. He starts out as 1/1. Gets +2/+2 from first Warcaller (cause first warcaller was kicked twice). Sow now he is a 3/3. And he gets kicked twice himself when he comes into play. So now he is a 5/5.
But what does he get from Biomancer? If Biomancer was 6/8 before the Second Warcaller came into play kicked twice (+2/+2)....does the second warcaller get +6/+6? Or...since the Second Warcaller came into played kicked twice...does that make the Biomancer 8/10 and thus giving the second warcaller +8/+8?

Meaning, is the second Warcaller 11/11? (1/1 + 2/2 + 6/6 + 2/2)
Or is the second Warcaller 13/13? (1/1 +2/2+ 8/8 + 2/2)
Or is he not an 11/11 or a 13/13...but something else?

So...to sum it up, everyone feel free to join in on the debate.

1st turn. Play Master Biomancer
2nd turn. Play Joraga Warcaller kicking him twice as he comes into play
3rd turn. Play a second Joraga Warcaller, also kicking him twice as he comes into play

What, at the end of all this, say Beginning of Turn 4, is:
Biomancer's power/defense
1st Warcallers's power/defense
2nd Warcaller's power/defense?
