Deck Description

So I'm a bit odd. When everyone are reveling in the fact that they have so many expantions to use at the same time in standard, I start to prepare for rotation and start cutting cards that will rotate within 3 month's.

So this is the result. I am going Mono W, it looks quite good as it is even before the Khan's.

It's a midrange-ish almsot tempo-like Beat down with quite a few powerful one-offs.
The one-offs opens up for some versatility that I like :)

How to Play

So the deck is rather straight forward but it has some nice synergies with Ajani's Pridemate who can grow really strong, really fast. On a perfect draw they are 5/5 that can attack on turn 3.

Also I've been focusing on the curve a lot, and it is smooth like silk, gold fish it and you'll notice :)

The one-offs are almost my favorite part of the deck, so lets go through them some :)

Soul of Theros - This is my late game mana dump, and it has a massive impact if I get to untap with it.

Dictate of Heliod - This is a great midgame combat trick as it can suprise in mid combat and then sticks around to ensure my tokens are on par with later game giants.

Heliod - This is another good mana dump, and especially important to have after a board wipe. a 2/1 isn't much mid/late game, but with Dictate, Godsend and/or even Ajani they do have some impact. The Vigilance is also nice, especially vs aggro decks that just wants to keep attacking. It measn I can attack, and they can't (not without losses anyhow)

Godsend - I just love the art and theme of this card, and it's in the deck to make sure that in a stalemate or after a boardwipe it can turn any of my creature into a serious threat.

Spear of Heliod - Another nice spell to help me in midgame to boost my smaller creaqtures. The removal effect on it is also good to threaten with if you end up drawing lands.

Elspeth - She's a secondary win condition in herself as anyone that has ever faced her knows. If she is not removed quickly, she takes over the game.

Hundred-Handed One - I know that most people think this card is a joke, and sure before monsterous is triggered, it's not very special, but once it is, this deals with any and all flyers in the game, it simply walls up the air.I nherent vigilance also means it can attack, and a 6/8 is quite a body (and that's not counting my other buff spells)

Mass Calicify - This is the card that will save me when I'm in trouble late game (except vs mirrors). Or it will break stalemates and ensure me a victory.

Triplicate Spirits - Another mid to late game threat. 3 flyers from one card is great on it's own, but connect the dots with my Dictate and Spears.. it really becomes a powerfull draw.

Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx - The reason for this being a one-off is because I lack a good 2 drop with double white (As Precinct Captain is on the rotate). so it's not until turn 5 the shrine will actually do me much good. However, one will serve me perfectly to activate Heliod and Soul of Theros with.

That's it for the one-offs. If you have any questions or imput on the deck, please let me know :)

Deck discussion for The Godsent

I like the combination of creature boosts and life gain. Those Pridemates make early game very difficult for your opponent. That Godsend artifact is incredible. As is that Ajani planeswalker. I don't play standard, but this is pretty cool.

Some suggestions:

- Sideboard Aegis of the Gods to mitigate mill/control sort of things.
- Add in Hopeful Eidolon in place of 100 handed one and Soul of Theros (lower mana curve will let you be more aggro, plus it adds more lifelink to the mix). Soul of Theros is so costly it's hilariously unplayable in mono white standard.
- Drop Triplicate Spirits for another Spear of Heliod
- Drop the Devouring Lights for Reprisals. Neither works on Stormbreath so it seems like an obvious upgrade, considering the weenie-leaning theme.
- Maybe think about Wall of Essence, since it's a great early game life gain creature

One thing I don't really understand, and am unsure how to solve given that I don't know if I get the angle here, but it seems like you have a bunch of one-ofs that could be cut in favor of making some not one-ofs. Like Dictate, I'd probably drop that for another Godsend. Elspeth also feels like an odd fit to me in this deck.

All in all, though, I think this is a great deck idea for rotation, and all it needs is a little more refining, focus and speed. Definitely on the right track!

OK so, you seem to have the impression I'm going for a white weeine, this is not the case. I'm aiming more of a tempo/midrange deck, where the lifegain serves as tempo (and on the same time helping the pridemates grow).

I like the idea of having the Aegis fellas in SB, but except for mill (which noone seems to play) it won't help vs a lot. I have enough lifegain to negate any burn deck.

Regarding the amount of one-offs it's simple. Versatility is something I really like and having several different angles in the deck to help me win usually works for me.

Triplicate spirits is something I am concidering changing, I noticed when playtesting that unless dictate is on board it feels very weak, but unsure what to fill the spot with. You mention adding another spear and Hopeful Eidolon.

Eidolon feels like it would fit in well, so I'll think that over some, but a second spear? Why? It's legendary, I only need one of them ever, so I'm curious why you'd like a second spear?

The Devouring lights are better than reprisal imo anyday, as not only can they hit any creature (except pro-white and hexproof ofc) they also exiles which can be important, and well worth the 1 extra mana cost (which you can convoke).

Stormbreath will be a huge issue, and I'm not sure what to SB for it, anything Pro-white will ofc be, as is always the case when playing mono colored.

Wall of essence is awesome, I love the card, but it gives the opponent the decicion when to give me life and that's why I prefer the Ram's, they ensure I get one life a turn meaning pridemates WILL grow :)

Thanks a lot for your input, I will think it over, and please don't hessistae to lay some more advices on me, I really appretiate to see how other players reason :)
