Deck Description

A few things to consider before critiquing this deck:

1) I just picked up this game a few weeks ago

2) This is the first deck I've ever built

3) I've only seen roughly 300 cards in real life, and they were from my friends Deck Builders Toolkit

4) This deck was built MOSTLY to counter his type of deck which is a Black/Blue zombie army deck however it is flexible for other decks as well.

5) The reason it doesn't have very many multiples of 4 or some multiples of 1 is because of price. I actually bought this deck as my first deck but I didn't wanna drop more than 30 dollars for it, as such I had to cut out some of the pricier cards, (they are the multiples of 1) and reduce most of the others to multiples of 2. Total came out to 29 with shipping included so not bad in my opinion.

Other than that feel free to give any and all advise, suggestions, critique's etc. looking forward to getting better. :)

How to Play

There are a few really good combo's I'd like to point out that really lured me into including them into my deck:

1) Judgment Day + Faith's Reward:

This is essentially my ace in the whole nuke. The counter behind the general idea of the deck. Basically I always found myself in situations where I would be up against this huge zombie token army that just went from a small threat to a game winner in one turn thanks to Undead Alchemist. Regardless of how many creatures of my own I had, it would just never be enough. Judgment day allows me to sleep easy at night again, knowing that his massive zombie army can be swept with one card. Follow it up with Faith's reward and as an added bonus you get all of your creatures back that were also destroyed in the process that turn, putting the power back in your hands.

2) Elixir of Immortality:

This card is a life saver when playing against mill decks or Black in general as they usually require you to fill your graveyard pretty rapidly. Once again I had that Undead Alchemist in mind when including this bad boy. With his constant milling of my library I found myself losing most of my game changers and counter cards with absolutely no way I could stop it. All of that is in the past now, along with giving you 5 extra life points it also brings back any key cards you may have lost earlier in the game, giving you a second chance to regain control.

3) Timely Reinforcements + White Zenith:

Finding yourself outnumbered again and just need to buy some time? These two cards are perfect for providing you a pretty quick, sizable, and expendable army to protect you long enough to play that game changer you've been holding on to.

The others were all included with the general purpose of either preventing the opponent from summoning his big smasher like Grimgrin, Corpse-Born who become more of a threat the longer you let them survive. Cards like Snycopate, Dissipate, Oblivion Ring, Condemn, and Journey to No Where all get him out of sight and out of mind. While cards like Sun titan, Inaction injunction, Prahv, Spires of Order, Condemn, and Azorius Guildmage prevent him from doing damage if he does manage to get out.

Finally some additional cards to play against other types of obstacles that may come your way such as Revoke Existence for pesky enchantments, Mirran Crusader, Grand Abolisher, and Accorder Palladin for all around coverage.

This was just the streamline of thoughts I had when assembling this deck, hopefully it helps it explain it a little!
