Deck Description

This is a Blue/Red Izzet deck that I have been wanting to make for quite a while.

I kind of want to find a couple things to remove in order to help the deck work a little faster, but I have no idea what to take out.

Comments and suggestions Welcome.

How to Play

I play this deck by casting as many instants and sorceries as I can and copying them with Dual Casting. After copying, I can exile the copy (or copies) with Nivmagus Elemental, then let the original Resolve. Also for every Instant/Sorcery cast it causes Guttersnipe's, Talrand's, and Nivix Cyclops' abilities to trigger. I can also use Teleportal to make creatures unblockable and attack.

Use Charmbreaker Devils to return used instants and/or sorceries to your hand so that they may be cast and copied again.

Deck discussion for Izzet Spellcaster

take out the nivmagus elementals. they exile spells. not good :p i would suggest lowering how many of each card you have by one depending on what they are. i thought you hated counters? why the counterflux? i would go ahead and take out the izzet guild gates. put in 2 more of each land. the guild gates won't really do much :p and you are guaranteed to have enough of each land.

Didn't you read the How to play? I don't exile the spells themselves, I copy them, exile the copy with Nivmagus Elemental, then let the original resolve. It doesn't matter if a copy gets exiled, its just a copy. Counterflux is there to serve as a protective instant of sorts. Plus, its a multi-colored spell, which untaps Lobber Crew when cast (I may just remove Lobber Crew though, its not really that amazing). They might serve just fine in the sideboard though. As for the Izzet Guildgates, why remove them for more basic lands that serve the same purpose less efficiently? Yeah they enter the battlefield tapped, but they can tap for either color, so if I get a hand with Islands and a gate but no Mountains, then the gate can give me the red mana I'll need.

yes but the nivmagus elemental you still have to exile a spell. that spell could benefit you greatly! more so than just putting +1/+1 counters on one or two creatures.
