Deck Description

Blue Black Zombie Sac Deck

How to Play

The general idea of this deck is to combo to victory with infinite damage using:
1) Rooftop Storm (to make zombies Free)
2) Grimgrin/Bloodthrone Vamp (as a sac engine)
3) Diregraf Captain/Blood Artist (for 1 damage per sac)
4) Gravecrawler (sac and due to rooftop, recast for free, making unlimited damage)

Forbidden Alchemy/Increasing Ambition helps me dig for what's needed, ghoulcaller's chant gets back any creatures discarded that I actually want. Cyclonic Rift and Tragic Slip are there to slow the opponent while I get set up. Geralf's Messenger exists primarily as a blocker. If I can't get setup, alt-win is sub-par agro.

Deck discussion for UB Zombies

To many islands for Geralf's messenger's. Other than that nice deck.

Removed two islands, added 2 more swamps.

Also looking at what to add for a sideboard. (currently in flux)

I'm not that good with sideboards but I'll try here.

4x Dissipate (can be useful, good against major creature threats)
4x Duress (think this is an amazing card, I sideboard it a decent amount last FNM *which I made top 4*)
3x Murder (instant kill is good to have, one of my bigger issues at FNM was craterhoof because of haste, if I was running murder it would have been a lot easier)
2x Sleep (cause it could be a pretty good chance at winning. It presents you with 2 turns of more or less block free attacking and saves you some good like also. Don't ever see it used but I think it could be fun, don't see a lot of counter spells in mid-range/aggro decks so it seems like a decent card)
2x Vampire Nighthawk (powerful creature really good chump blocker gains you some life and kills the creature)

After messing around with some test hands, I did
-2 Tragic Slip
+2 Increasing Ambition
As I found myself often lacking the cards I needed to complete the combo this deck is built around.

I liked the idea of some of the sideboard cards you recommended.

Changed SB to:
4 Vampire Nighthawk
2x Blustersquall (Can function as a near sleep at instant speed)
2x Sleep
2x Cyclonic Rift (Murder is nice, but I like the temporary stall functionality of Cylonic, plus late game I can overload if needed)
3x Duress (as you said, an amazing card)
2x Think Twice (kind of a filler card at the moment, can't think of what else to add)

When Innistrad came out I toyed with the idea of making a U/B zombie deck, but I could never get it to click... This an interesting idea though. Thought of maybe adding in a couple of Endless Ranks of the Dead to up your zombie count/give you sac fodder? Would also help with the aggro side of things a little

Playtesting this deck, I found it moved really slow, and that I gave up way too much early game ground, with no real way of recovering that ground. To try to combat that, I made the following changes:

-1 Geralf's Messenger
-2 Increasing Ambition
-1 Forbidden Alchemy
-2 Dissipate
-1 Tragic Slip
-2 Diregraf Captain
-1 Grimgrin, Corpse-Born

+2 Blood Artist
+2 Diregraf Ghoul
+2 Liliana of the Dark Realms
+4 Mutilate

It was hard to figure out what to take out, but the Diregraf Ghouls give me an early game blocker, the Blood Artists can help me stabilize until mid-game, with their lifegain. Liliana helps me get those last few swamps, or if needbe, her 2nd ability can be used as removal. Mutilate helps as a board clear most of the time on turn 4, and if I have blood artists out, it can be a decent life swing to help stabilize.
