Deck Description

Standard Blue White Combo Deck focused on abusing Sage of Hours.
Restricted to Theros Block and Magic 2015 Core.
(Avoiding set cycling concerns when the next expansion releases)

Sage of Hours - Remove 5 +1/+1 counters, Take an Extra Turn
Sunbond - Whenever you gain life, put THAT MANY +1/+1 counters on creature
Various Life Gain Cards - to fuel the Sunbond + Sage combo

Sage of Hours can potentially grant you infinate turns as long as you figure out a way to keep placing 5 +1/+1 counters on him EVERY TURN. Sunbond can grant the Sage those 5 +1/+1 counters if you can gain 5 life EVERY TURN. With Soulmenders, Nyx-Fleece Rams, and Ephara's Radiance this shouldn't be too much trouble. White is the major life gain color after all. Another route to go would be possibly using Lifelink.

For filtering out the combo: Heliod's Pilgram can fetch Sunbond or Ephara's Radiance, Dakra Mystics can potentially draw out the combo assuming you don't give your opponent a card that may ruin the combo, and Scry will help filter your draws. Use life gain to help stall out until the combo hits and when it does Aqueous Form will make even a 1/1 able to get through the opponents defenses.

This deck runs off of 4 mana. Two glaring issues would be: possible lack of defense and fragility of the combo. If they take out the sage or sunbond then no more combo. Even without the combo though, a Ajani's Pridemate cloaked under Aqueous Form should deliver some beatdown.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Wanted to do a Black/Blue deck featuring the combo, however, need to figure out a way to fuel the sage's ability using Black.

How to Play

The so-called "God Hand" for this deck would be:

Sage of Hours
Sunbond
Ephara's Radiance
2 Plains
2 Island

Assuming you draw anything to get you that extra 2 life per turn then you're set to pull off the combo. Turn 2 Sage, give him the Radiance on turn 3, and Sunbond on Turn 4. You'll be able to pull an extra turn as early as turn 4 if you give the sage 1 more +1/+1 counter on Turn 3 (you'll have 2 mana available to do so plus at least 2 card draws since game start). Thus potential infinate turns (well +1 turn per turn so not technically traditional infinate) as early as turn 4.

Deck discussion for Sage of the Sun

Archangel of Thune would help this deck a lot

Yes it would, however, I'm avoiding 2014 as it will cycle out come September. Until then there are a few cards such as the Archangel which would make the combo easier from the older blocks.

Realized that you'll have to wait until turn 5 to pull off the combo as you won't have mana to activate Ephara's Radiance on turn 4. The Sage will grant the extra turn on turn 5 as he'll have 2 counters from being enchanted with Sunbond and Ephara's Radiance then can gain another 3 for 1W using the Radiance to fuel Sunbond. Afterwards it is just a matter of gaining that last 2 life per turn and there'll be at least 4 card draws since game start to help with that.
