Deck Description

Love Shadowborn Apostle, but no fan of Shadowborn Demon. How about a different target...?

How to Play

There's a Shadowborn target that works particularly well with them: the little-used Ravenous Demon. All those cheap Apostles happen to be Humans, so you can keep gulping them once Ravenous is out to turn him into a beater that puny Shadowborn Demon only WISHES he could be.

But this isn't a one-trick pony. With all your self-induced deaths, you can reap other benefits. There's card draw from Altar's Reap, creature kill with Tragic Slip, beater generation with Skirsdag High Priest, life swapping with good old Blood Artist, and even replacement of sacced Apostles by way of Xathrid Necromancer. And if that's not enough, Immortal Servitude can bring all those selfless Apostles back for another go!

Deck discussion for Born of Shadow

Pretty sweet use with Xanthrid Necromancer - I like a lot! With Immortal our you could feasibly pay 3 mana, get 18 zombies and 3 demons and still keep your shadowborn...

That would pretty much be best case but yes, it's possible. And that's nuts! :-)
