Boros Battalion - Pauper

Standard Pauper for a special FNM coming up. Seems like it might be good enough to compete in regular Standard, too!

Nothing complicated here...just play creatures and hit hard and fast!

In addition to tried and true Boros favorites like Wojek Halberdiers, Skyknight Legionnaire, and Daring Skyjek, there's a couple of other standouts. Court Street Denizen will trigger off all but one of the many creatures, and triggers twice with Attended Knight. The Knight is also a great battalion enabler and, with its built-in first strike, a nice target for your auras. War Falcon makes for great early air presence. Loyal Cathar is a persistent attacker AND defender, and even helps keep the attack up after death!

Not much else to this creature-heavy deck, but Searing Spear is a great way to keep the field clear or get in that last critical damage to the opponent's face, and Smite can turn even your smallest defender into a great and satisfying kill. Playing just one can get the opponent's attention and make them think twice about attacking into even a little Soldier token.

Sideboard has answers for certain colors, enchantments, artifacts, and mass weenies. Beef up any of those as appropriate to your play environment. There's even a little closing potential you can pull in with Spare From Evil, Massive Raid, and Act of Treason.

This has been top notch in Standard Pauper playtesting and can even hold its own against non-Pauper decks. If you're looking for something that can compete with a REALLY tight budget, give this a try. Good luck!
