There is grand power in an angry Dragon....
Grandeur: one of those fun Future Sight abilities that hasn't gone anywhere...at least, not yet. To date, only one card in each color uses it. But that doesn't mean we can't try building around it!Dragons have a long, proud history in Magic, and many of their most storied chapters are from Shiv, arguably the hub of red mana in the multiverse. But Shiv was devastated during the Phyrexian Invasion, and many of its grand Dragons scattered. One of them took his rage to the pit fights at the Grand Coliseum, showing what power had once existed in Shiv. His descendant Tarox Bladewing, red's Grandeur champion, is perhaps even angrier:"Grandeur — Discard another card named Tarox Bladewing: Tarox Bladewing gets +X/+X until end of turn, where X is its power."His ability and flavor text hint at it: he devours other Dragons of Shiv to increase his own strength as he rages at the multiverse. So this deck encourages him to do his own thing...it's built around unleashing him on the enemy. Tenza, Cathedral of War, and various auras make him stronger so that his Grandeur ability can be game-ending, and two of those auras (Dust Corona and Madcap Skills) make him very difficult to stop. Slap Darksteel Plate on him, and he's also very hard to kill.He can also tag team with Purphoros (Tarox almost has enough red devotion to activate him singlehandedly) to give you two beefy attackers, or Purphoros can stay back as the ultimate blocker. And speaking of blocking, what's in the deck that doesn't focus on pumping Tarox is focused on holding out until he roars into the red zone. Eighteen defenders stand in your opponent's way if they try and outrace you, and most (like Æther Membrane and Wall of Stone) are very, very difficult to get around. Vent Sentinel can also turn all those defenders into an alternate wincon by smacking the opponent around for chunks of damage at a time, making this deck not QUITE the one-trick pony it would be otherwise. The sideboard has some more defenders to pump that up if it works well vs the opponent, Volcanic Strength to make Tarox a terror for opposing red mages, and a lot of burn--mostly of the sweeper variety--in case the defenders and Lightning Bolts in the main aren't enough to hold out. What do you think? Do you know of some good cards in Modern that could make Tarox even more of an unstoppable terror? Any constructive comments will net you +1 rep points. you should look at trying to add Claws of Valakut. it gives the enchanted creature +1/+0 for each Mountain you control and has first strike

I completely forgot about that! Hmm...perhaps in place of Ordeal of Purphoros?
that's what i would do
Done and done!
I was trying to make a good Tarox deck, and I hit a dead end until I saw what you did here. Thanks. Tenza is going to make my deck so much more fun.
