How to Play

I made decks based on all the colored Souls, but almost forgot the best one: Soul of New Phyrexia!

The other Souls were all mono-colored decks, so I'm doing the same here: all cards match Soul of New Phyrexia's color, meaning...NO color. Yes, a colorless Standard deck. Can it be any good?

Well, it's a little bit of a hodgepodge. There are plenty of varied and surprisingly powerful creatures among the ranks of the colorless:

- Phyrexian Revoker is an excellent control card.

- Juggernaut is a persistent beater that has to be dealt with quickly, especially with some equipment helping him out.

- Will-Forged Golem is a nice big threat you can play for cheap.

- Gargoyle Sentinel is a nice situational flier for a good cost.

- And Scuttling Doom Engine...well, need I say more?

And of course Soul itself can make them all indestructible for a turn...along with every other card in this deck.

Including the lands, which are one of the highlights! Not having to worry about colored mana lets us load up on lifegain with Radiant Fountain, creatures with Mutavault and Sliver Hive (which combo together or with Sliver Construct), and not worry about losing out on colored mana with specialized lands like Encroaching Wastes and Rogue's Passage. And if there's a land on the other side of the table we really want, we can copy it with tragically (see what I see there?) underused Thespian's Stage.

I've enjoyed colorless decks in Modern and other formats before, but even in Standard, there's some surprisingly nice potential here!
