Soul of Theros was a little tricky to try and build a deck around--many of us have learned in Limited what a house he is in ANY deck--but I made thematic decks for the other Souls and wanted to finish it with white. So the theme became obvious, if perhaps a little "win more" here: lifegain.That means Ajani's Pridemates become the centerpiece of a deck that gains life very frequently, either in the red zone, through relying on what the opponent plays (Soldier of the Pantheon), or just the slow trickle of time (Nyx-Fleece Ram). You can easily use the Pridemates and other attackers to win without Soul of Theros every making an appearance, but if you do end up windmill-slamming him onto the table, his arrival is even more devastating than normal here. BOOM!
