Deck Description

Who needs a massive standing army when you can just bribe, recruit, and steal your enemies?

How to Play

Probably needs a LOT of work, but I think the idea has potential. At worst, it should drive your opponent crazy.

What is that idea? Zap your opponents' early threats with blockers (Frostburn Weird and Boros Reckoner can both stall for a long time) and burn, and then start stealing their better creatures once they hit the table and bash your opponent's face in with their own beaters. Your sorceries do it just fine, but the real star is Akroan Conscriptor, who can do it at instant speed; if your opponent is swinging with multiple creatures, cast an instant that targets Conscriptor (Coordinated Assault, Fall of the Hammer), and turn one of your opponent's creatures into a blocker. Not even two-for-one...it's two-for-NONE, or even more if your Consriptor can then deal lethal to another attacker by way of damage from Hammer or first strike blocking from Assault.

That's kind of a bonus scenario, though. More than likely, you're going to be throwing your opponent's creatures into attack mode. If your opponent blocks, they likely lose at least one creature. If they don't, not only do they take damage, but you can add insult to injury by sacrificing that creature before returning it with the appropriately named Barrage of Expendables or for lifegain with Bubbling Cauldron. And if your opponent has some big beefy creatures, or ones with fun abilities like deathtouch or lifelink, you can pull in Pit Fight from your sideboard and have those creatures fight your opponent's other creatures directly.

The only other card of particular note is Madcap Skills. It's kind of an alternate wincon here. Slap it on the Weird, Reckoner, or even Ash Zealot to pound the opponent and hopefully thin down their creatures, or to get in lethal when you're able to steal one of your opponent's blockers out from under them. Play it on the Conscriptor for a guaranteed steal and then swing for big damage if they're suddenly short on blockers.
