Deck Description

Just your average Minotaur deck. Or is it...?

How to Play

This one has a few twists that may surprise. But mostly in the sideboard.

Mainboard, this is your standard Minotaur midrange beatdown. Turn 3 Ragemonger and then Turn 4 Kragma Warcaller (with another Minotaur tossed in if you're lucky) can end things quickly, but for the most part this is expected to linger into the midgame and just take over with multiple beaters pounding the opponent and their creatures into pulp.

Deathbellow Raider, Minotaur Skullcleaver, and burn soften them up early and clear the field for bigger threats later. Surprise #1 is Drown in Sorrow, which can completely clear the field for you at a key time...and at the cost of only two of your own creatures (Skullcleaver and Fanatic of Mogis, who do most of their work on their first turn of action anyway); all your other creatures naturally have 3 toughness, and with a single Rageblood Shaman in play, ALL your Minotaurs are immune to drowning!

The biggest threat to this sort of deck, of course, is control, and especially wipers. The sideboard features a full set of Duress (perhaps swap in Thoughtsieze if you're lucky enough to have it) and a couple Slaughter Games to zap their biggest threats. Bye-bye, Verdict! So long, Dissolve! Adios, Revelation! Hellooooo, victory!

Another fun sideboard card is Fall of the Hammer. Perhaps I was just suckered due to mass success with it during pre-release, but it seems to have a LOT of promise in this sort of deck, enough that I replaced two Mizzium Mortars with it. Playtesting will have to bear that out, but I can see it meeting or exceeding Mortars for spot removal without any trouble in most games.

What do you think? Any and all comments and suggestions would be most appreciated!
