Deck Description

--- M15 SPOILER ALERT!! ---

With Ajani's Pridemate and Wall of Essence both coming back in M15, it seems like a good time to try out a Pridemate-centric deck. Since I haven't lucked in to any Archangel of Thune pulls (and they're out of my current budget), let's see if I can run out something that does alright without her....

How to Play

Aside from Pridemate itself, a handful of protection spells (Ajani's Presence in main and Gods Willing in the sideboard), and a single Angelic Accord, every single spell here gains you life, so the Pridemates should be really big, really fast. Defense should be little issue with the likes of Nyx-Fleece Ram and Wall of Essence standing in the way, and offense should consist of unleashing massive Pridemates and/or a mob of other creatures (and remember that Ram can attack too!), gaining life all the while thanks to lifelink and Path of Bravery, which in turn, of course, makes the Pridemates even bigger.

Really not much else to it! Is this simple enough to work, or foolhardy without Archangel? What are your thoughts?

Deck discussion for New Standard Lifegain

Never make decks over 60 cards man, it's bad practice.

Eh, I always do 61. Kind of become my signature thing in our play group. You could snip a Hopeful Eidolon to take it to 60 without missing much.
