Deck Description

Goblins are known for being mischievous little rabble-rousers. But sometimes, they get downright nasty. You might even say they go to the dark side....

How to Play

I've dabbled with black Goblins before, but for my "off-color" series-- featuring well-known tribes from Magic's history outside of their traditional color--I wanted to make red a splash at best and really focus on the black.

So, what makes these dark Goblins different from their traditional red cousins? Turns out...not a ton. They're still a tribe of smallish swarmers that don't mind too much if they perish...in fact, if anything, these black Goblins really shrug off their losses and keep on coming. The graveyard becomes just a temporary holding pen until they come back, which is very black.

So, let's break it down. Marsh Flitter and Facevaulter sacrifice Gobbos to get bigger, Weirding Shaman turns one into two (as does Warren Weirding if you use it on yourself), Altar's Reap sacs one to restock your hand, Fodder Launch appropriately causes a big mess for the opponent at the cost of one Goblin, and Knucklebone Witch grows all the while. Festering Goblin is a great target, Auntie's Snitch can come back, and Boggart Birth Rite and Wort can bring ANY of them back.

That's really about all there is to it! This tribe really clicks and has a lot of synergy, and barely has to touch red to get there.

What do you think? What are some of your black Goblin ideas?
