Deck Description

We all know we have a dark side, hidden down deep. Humanity is capable of great acts of kindness and valor...or remarkable malice and cruelty.

While Humans in Magic are typically thought of as a "good" race, what happens when they go bad...?

How to Play

This deck is part of my new "off-color" series, featuring well-known tribes from Magic's history, with a big twist: they're NOT in their traditional color.

Humans are one of those rare tribes that have a pretty good showing in all five colors, especially white (typically weenies), blue (intellectuals), and red (passionate warriors). But black is not nearly as prevalent.

But that doesn't mean these dark Humans are any less potent. Quite the contrary: black Humans have some of the most potent abilities in Magic. And a lot of it revolves around their own sacrifice.

One-drops Death Cultist and Deathgreeter form a nasty combo, with built-in lifegain for you and life loss for the opponent. Skirsdag Flayer can sac them or any other Human to wipe out ANY creature on the other side of the board, and while not Humans themselves, Falkenrath Torturer and big bruising Ravenous Demon can end games quickly when you sacrifice Humans to the cause. Then Village Cannibals and Xathrid Necromancer reap benefits from those deaths, not to mention Skirsdag High Priest....

What do you think? If you like the concept of off-the-wall, unusual color decks like this, check out my other Off-Color decks, including white Elves, green Goblins, blue Zombies, and red Vampires. (Just go into my Profile and click on the "Off-Color" tag to see the rest.)
