Deck Description

The battlefield must be made out of rubber...because everything the opponent drops on it bounces right back!

How to Play

Bounce is the name of the game, with a chunk of cards that return stuff (especially creatures) to the opponent's hand. Classic blue shenanigans.

And then black comes in...with discard. Thoughtseize is obvious. Warped Devotion is a little more obscure, but just plain mean. Think about multiple copies, and then you bounce a permanent. Ouch.

So your opponent is left stymied, and probably essentially "bouncing" stuff to their graveyard before long. But that's not really a wincon. Your wins will come the old fashioned way: in the red zone. Yes, the field should be pretty clear ahead of your creatures once you start bouncing left and right, but a bunch are unblockable Rogues anyway. And with Oona's Blackguard or Larceny in play, those guaranteed hits ALSO trigger more discarding. It's a vicious cycle. But anyway, just ping them until they're dead...the counters from Blackguard and boosting from Stinkdrinker Bandit will greatly accelerate that. The one NON-Rogue here is fantastic on its own: Blizzard Specter forces either bounce or discard when it hits, neither of which is a great choice for the poor opponent!

The sideboard has a lot of more focused bouncing, including mass artifacts (Hurkyl's Recall), mass green (Hibernation), and mass creatures (Ætherize and sometimes Echoing Truth). Also featured are cards that discard large chunks of the opponent's hand (probably-prowled Noggin Whack and useful counter, discard, or tutor-for-Warped Devotion Perplex).

What omissions do you see? How can I make this better?

Deck discussion for Return To Oblivion

I've considered Linessa, Zephyr Mage:

Legendary Creature — Human Wizard 3/3, 3U
{X}{U}{U}, {T}: Return target creature with converted mana cost X to its owner's hand.
Grandeur — Discard another card named Linessa, Zephyr Mage: Target player returns a creature he or she controls to its owner's hand, then repeats this process for an artifact, an enchantment, and a land.

Seems pretty good, especially the Grandeur part: potential bounce of FOUR permanents in one pop. But she requires quite a commitment... probably only a full four copies would make her really worth it. Should I try and find room?

Any other suggestions? +1 rep points for any constructive criticism.

Definitely need Recoil ! with Warped devotion, you return any permanent and discard two cards with one 3mana cost instant!!!
Maybe Megrim will help.
And for sure......Capsize..... :)

Great thoughts, but this was striving to be Modern-legal. I may have to look back into Legacy for gems like that, though. There is a LOT of potential there.... you're right, Recoil would just be deliciously cruel.
