Deck Description

Most Spirit decks revolve around swarming with as many tokens as possible, picking the opponent apart with little flying ankle biters. This one's a bit different, as those tokens can bite off your whole head!

How to Play

Your Spirit staples are all here: Lingering Souls and Midnight Haunting (and Geist-Honored Monk) to generate them, and Drogskol Captain to boost and protect them. But it doesn't end there. You've got additional enchantments (Favorable Winds and Intangible Virtue) to boost them further...with all of them and all Captains out, that's a whopping +8/+8 with vigilance and hexproof to all your Spirit tokens! Obviously you've never get THAT far, but even +2/+2 or +3/+3 can be backbreaking, and that's typical. Combine that with Vault of the Archangel and it's practically game over.

You've also got some beefier fliers with Delver of Secrets (and no less than 20 instants/sorceries to flip him with) and Angels from Entreat, particularly devastating when you consider the boosts from Virtue and/or Winds.

There's some control here too to keep your opponent off-balance while you build. Azorius Charm is always great, and there are just enough hard counterspells to keep your opponent guessing when you may or may not have one in hand and force some bad plays and mana-rich turn skips. Detention Sphere can lock down threats they DO play, and Rootborn Defenses can completely deflate their plans to wipe the board.

I've had some awesome wins with this deck, and very few losses. Going to miss Spirits when they rotate. If you haven't tried a deck like this, it's pretty cheap and an absolute blast to play. Try it out, and let me know what you think!

Deck discussion for Scrooge's Ghosts

I've had fun with similar decks. I especially love it how the game changes when you miracle an entreat with lots of mana available and a counterspell in hand just in case. The new tokens will be GW selesnya style, there are some good cards in dragonmaze to help though they are a bit more expensive to get out (and probably buy).
