Deck Description

Getting flashed isn't always a good thing....

How to Play

So I was playtesting online the other day and ran up against a guy that had a very flash-heavy deck. I'd attack, he'd flash in a superior blocker, I'd weep. Thankfully I was running heavy aggro with burn and was able to overcome, but it really made every combat phase VERY interesting. "How much many does he have open? Can he play a superior blocker with that? TWO blockers? Hmmmm...." Loved the chess match feel of it.

So with imitation being the greatest form of flattery, I thought I'd try and see if I could adopt the idea and take it to the max. Prophet of Kruphix and Ephara are the ONLY spells here that can only be played on your turn, and even they contribute greatly to the flash theme; Prophet allows you to play stuff on your turn AND still have all mana available to play on the opponent's turn, and Ephara can then potentially draw you an extra card each and every turn.

The rest kind of speaks for itself. I tried to include as many 2-drop creatures (and Selesnya Charm as a potential 2-drop creature) as possible, since the biggest problem the guy I played admitted he had was aggro. Yes, heavy hitters like Fleetfeather Cockatrice and Advent of the Wurm are great, but they're not much good if you're already staring down single digit life points and a swarm of weenies. I may have even overdone that a bit...playtesting may bear out that I need more pure fatties, but we'll see!

I anticipate issues with MBD, since their instant-speed removal and stock of swarming and/or massive creatures can wreck just about any plan, and red decks with their stock of burn instants could give this fits, but I think I'll have a leg up on control (Supreme Verdict, Detention Sphere, and many others are rendered pretty moot, and it's easy to flash in creatures to quickly finish off planeswalkers...all that plus Skylasher) and most other decks out there.

What do YOU think? Worth building a trying out? Outside of the mana base, this is actually pretty cheap, too!
