Deck Description

No creatures? No damage spells? No chance?

Nope. No problem!

How to Play

Elspeth and Gideon are all the offense you need, either creating creatures or wading into battle themselves. Elspeth and Ajani boost and protect them.

And then there's the rest of the deck. It's all about disruption and control. Lots of damage prevention, especially of the combat variety, while you stall to bring your planeswalkers online and pumped up. Blast the field clear of creatures with Wrath of God for even more insurance. And counter and stall as effectively as any blue mage with Silence, Mana Tithe, and Rebuff the Wicked, the last of which combines with Faith's Shield to offer excellent protection for your planeswalkers.

Then just take over. Gideon will likely be your closer, but Elspeth (especially once Sun's Champion shows up) can just swarm the opponent under an army of tokens, as many Standard players today can attest!

The sideboard has specific color and multicolor hate, as well as additional sweepers. Path to Exile is good if you're facing an all-out blitz of opposing creatures or just have one or two that you need gone right away.
