My goal was to create an agro deck that could keep pace with affinity while being able to battle through ensnaring bridge. Doran seemed the best for the job. Plus, who doesn't like Doran?
The deck revolves around Doran and assault formation. Will-o-the-whisp is a good fit in a meta filled with quick agro. Ornithopter was in that spot, but I sacrificed the speed for defense. Mardu and goldnight are the finishers in the deck. Ayil is there so I can still get value out of the life gain when my guys are targeted by spot removal, to make sure I don't get caught due to goldnight's downside, to fight burn, and to peck away at permanents by sacrificing the tokens produced by Mardu. The deck can leave you without a hand fairly early. The draw engines are extremely important when facing control.The deck is weak to blood moon/control, but can go toe to toe with affinity. The speed of the deck can usually outrace scapeshift/storm.Other cards I'm considering-1. Skeleton key- an unblockable Doran is great2. Spellskite- aggressive spot removal can cripple this deck. Plus, the 4 toughness is appealing.
