Deck Description

Firstly I would like to say that seeing as this is my first Budget Modern deck that the price limit for these budget decks will be $75, as I feel this is enough money to buy you a semi-competitive deck that you can play at your local FNM or with friends, and that you can be sure to expect more Budget Modern decks from me in the future.

So now lets get into the deck...
If you like fast, aggressive and powerful decks then this is probably going to be right up your alley.
17 of this decks cards are creatures with Infect (Inkmoth Nexus is included in this as it can double as a 1/1 Flyer with Infect.) For those who don't know Infect is a keyword ability introduced in the Scars of Mirrodin. Infect is a damage ability that deals damage to opponents creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters or as Poison counters to the opponent. If an opponent would have 10 poison counters they lose the game. So as you can guess you can get some pretty cheap and easy wins by simply beating into the opponent with creatures with the ability.
Now seeing as these infectious little critters aren't very powerful on their own, you want to run cards to pump them up to ensure you can get in the damage to win.
20 of the decks cards all pump your creatures and allow you to do this, Rancor and Ghor-Clan Rampager also give your creature Trample as well as a boost, which really helps when trying to get damage in the form of Poison counters, other pump spells are just cheap ways to make sure you creatures live through being blocked or can get them all important poison counters onto the opponent as quickly as possible.
Assault Strobe is very powerful tool that gives a creature double strike, which can be super-powerful when attacking straight into the opponents face.
Lightning Bolt is also just the Modern staple removal/burn spell and can also be great for dealing with pesky blockers.
20 Land fill up the remainder of the deck, most of which are basic with the exception of the 4 Karplusan Forest and 3 Inkmoth Nexus.

Now for improving on the deck.
The most obvious improvements you can make if you have a extra cash are pretty obvious, you want to be adding in more dual lands to make sure you always have the perfect colours to cast your spells, cards like Stomping Grounds, Copperline Gorge and Rootbound Crag as well as the 4th Inkmoth Nexus.
Might of Old Krosa is a powerful instant speed pump spell that can really make a difference when trying to get in plenty of damage.
Apostle's Blessing is a great way to protect your creatures vs anything with removal or burn.
Flesh // Blood is another cheap way to get poison counters in very quickly and is very powerful after pumping a creature after combat.

How to Play

Play a creature with Infect, attack, pump it up, attack more, pump more, and get those all important 10 Poison Counters to the opponent to win the game... it's as simple as that.
