Modern mono-black discard on a budget. Feel free to replace the Thoughtseize for Duress or something similar, it cuts the deck's cost by $20, I just happen to have one Thoughtseize in my collection.
The Rack and Shrieking Affliction are the main win conditions of the deck, and the rest of the cards slowly but surely deplete your opponent of cards. Augur of Skulls is a great target to haunt with Cry of Contrition, getting rid of three cards on possibly turn 3 upkeep. It's also a decent blocker late game.Nezumi Shortfang, Nyxathid, and Nihilith take advantage of your opponent's lack of a hand.Leyline of the Void helps against reanimator and Birthing Pod. Tormod's Crypt or Relic of Progenitus are also good choices here.I just like Dash Hopes as a card :)Dismember, Victim of Night, and Smallpox are your key removal spells if your discard/Rack/Affliction aren't getting the job done fast enough. You can also haunt their guy with Cry of Contrition and then kill it. Yay value!Funeral Charm is amazing on their draw step when they have no cards in hand. Instant speed discard!Smallpox is great because you don't have a lot of creature to begin with, you don't need a lot of land, and you get rid of one of their guys in addition to a discard.Dakmor Salvage is in there for your singleton Raven's Crime for the late game. Draw land? Turn it into discard. Draw Salvage? Discard to Raven's Crime, then get it back via dredge. Only do this when you have at least one Rack/Affliction on the board.Blackmail is best used for later in the game.
