The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

I was talking with a friend about his old collection of Ravnica cards. I may not look it, but I am a major Black mana enthusiast. I got to thinking, how much fun one of the basic Black archetypes would be to play. But before I actually made it, I needed to remember how much money I had already spent. So for those of you who have also spent far too much, and don't want to waste more money, here is a budget Extort deck. It's a pretty basic life-drain set-up, but at a pretty low cost, (19.44$) and using our favorite guild for taking your money. (ironic, huh?)
Primarily it would be good to play low mana cards with extort, such as Thrull Parasite and/or Tithe Drinker. You can keep summoning these low-cost cards while building up more mana and quickly draining power. Use cards such as Blind Obedience and Sinister Possession to keep your opponent from attacking or blocking safely. Eventually, you can summon powerhouses such as Blood Baron of Orzhov to take advantage of all of those life you just kidnapped. Keeping up life from there is a simple matter, for every card except for lands will be a spell to drain yet more of your enemies power. Play Crypt Ghast and Pontiff of Blight as soon as you can. Save at least one very inexpensive card (Thrull Parasite) for the endgame to spike out some high-end damage with a quick summon. For the early gameplay, you will likely feel some damage if you are facing a red or a white deck, both of whom can play strong haste and/or swarm strategies. Fortunately you can use Blind Obedience and Sinister Possession to survive until your congregation is ready to go to war.
