Deck Description

Boros deck using the new cards from GTC. Main idea is to make it for the standard format (but eventually I might change it to modern if nothing comes up). The main idea is to make an aggro deck with some intresting burn spells to finish my opponent. Also might remove 1 firemane and 1 hellrider for 2 Zelatous conscripts.
Maybe replacing the Morthars for Aurelia's Fury or Pillar of Flame (making 3 spears 3 pillars).
Thanks for the suggestions. Hope the hear your comments ^^

How to Play

Ideally: T 1) Champion of Parrish; Turn 2) Lightning Mauler (+1 Champion); Turn 3) Silverblade link it with the Champion (now 3/3) and link the Silverblade with the Mauler for haste. Swing for 12 if everything goes nice.

Finish your opponent then with: 1) burn spells; 2) Hellrider; 3) Angel and its hellixes

Deck discussion for Standard Batallion (RW)

Ehem* Almost standard, not until the official release. =D.

This deck is pretty strait forward, I think I am going to see a lot of decks that look exactly like this in the future. I think I already have.

That being said, why Thalia?

Jajaja, I forgot it was not officially realeased.
Because I thought I could get most profit out of it, and to bother those control decks that can be very annoying when you are playing aggro decks. But as you read I am really thinking of removing her for some precinct captain or ash zealots.
Thanks for the comments! Any further ideas?

-2 Aurelia +2 Hellrider : Save yourself the money and buy Hellrider. Not only is he a better investment, running a 6-drop in a 22 land deck with no ramp or draw is practically always a bad idea.
-4 of wahtever, +4 Champion of the Parish : You have 20 humans (24 with champions), which is more than enough to run Champions.
Also, definitely add some way to deal with Blind Obedience in SB, since it absolutely brings the hammer down on boros.

Tks. I was thinking on the Champion. The Hellrider didn't want to use it (mostly for theme), but I think I'll add it.

Sideboard suggestions

I would play nevermore to name cards such as sphinx's revalation and supreme virdect.

You really need a way to deal with blind obediance this card is real problem for the fast aggro decks an idean may be ray of revlation is a choice ( I know you cant flash it back but it is at instant speed)

I would run skullcrack as well this will help against the bant and naya deck running thragtusk as well as centaur healer.

I agree with Thalia in the sideboard if you expect your meta to see alot of control decks and if that is so i would probably run 3.

I also see you are running sweepers main deck such as bonfire and mizzium mortars. I think these cards are too mana intesive and should not be played main deck as you are the aggressor you want to be pressuring them not holding back and wiping there board. I would swap these out for searing spear and pillar of flames( granted pillar will be a meta game decision based on how big undying and zombies are) I think these cards will put more pressure on your oppenet by be able to remove creatures and push and damage and any control players you play you will be able to finish them off.

This is my opinion and some people may disagree with it but i have had more success playing aggreasive decks this way.

Good luck with your deck

Thank you very much.
I've thought about the Mortars as it can be used both ways (paying or not the Overload cost), so it can be used a both a single kill or a sweeper. I might be changing the Bonfire though.
Also thanks for the sideboard help!

Made some changes on the lands (replaced the Slayers for the Cave of Souls as I have 20 of 26 creatures that are hummans).

You would only swing for 11 damage. Silverblade swings for 2 double strike 4, Lightning Mauler swings for 2 double strike 4, and CoP swings for 3. 4+4+3=11.

No if you link it with the CoP! By that turn is a 3/3. So CoP deals 6, Silverblade 4 and Lightning Mauler 2. Grand Total of 12 ^^

If Silverblade and CoP are linked you can't link Silverblade to Lightning Mauler too. So Silveblade wouldn't be able to attack due to summoning sickness and you'd be doing even less damage 8 total, if CoP and Lightning Mauler attack.

Soulbound states: You may pair this creature with another UNPAIRED creature when either enters the battlefield. They remain paired for as long as you control both of them. If you choose to link Silverblade with CoP then you can't link Silverblade to Lightning Mauler since Silverblade is already paired.

So again you are either doing 8 damage by attacking with CoP soulbound to Silverblade (Silverblade can't attack due to summoning sickness) and Lightning Mauler, or you are doing 11 by attacking with CoP, Silverblade and Lightning Mauler soulbound
