What if you added unwinding clock to this deck to help out the dragon arch? Double up on beasts...

This is a neat deck. The only problem I have with it, is that it's too nerve-racking for me to play with a deck that has 1 win condition. It's a great idea tho. And would certainly surprise the hell out of whoever you're playing. Just hope they don't have a mana-leak handy...

You right yo. But.......................how many times have I started a match without that combo? And more importantly, how many have I won without that combo? Its definitely a stupid fast deck either way, but if I dont have the kuldotha then I don't have the confidence. Maybe I'll reset and re-think once I've played with the modernized version (w/shrines). And of course its always nice to have those free boys out in the first couple of turns. but the kuldotha is what this deck is built around. How about some stormbloods? Nah! Too slow? Ha!

I think that playing against decks with timely reinforcements and doj can cause confidence issues also.

We'll see.

Actually. I'll just throw this out there. If you don't have kuldotha and a mountain and an artifact in your hand on your first draw... go ahead and draw down until you do...

Its pretty important to this decks strategy.

Well. The beauty of the memnite is that it CAN be a free sac, but it can also just be another (free) 1/1 creature to pump up. Of course, if it came down to it, I would much rather have 3 1/1's than 1, so if I have kuldotha, that's what I use.

Alright. Why?

Brimstone volley does 3 or 5 damage instantly. It's a backup plan for when your creatures die. Or just a burn spell if nothing else. I wouldn't replace brimstone with rtf.

Maybe as a replacement for spikeshot in the sideboard...

The shield is just another free artifact for kuldotha rebirth.

This deck is cheap. That's about the only thing that makes sense about it.

There's not much synergy between the cards and with the massive variety, it will never play the same way twice. What were you going for with this deck?

Yea. That card was sort of an afterthought anyway. But good idea.

Trust me. I thought about the fireslinger. I just figured the slot would be better used for an attacker. And the arsonist +goblin grenade + brimstone volley combo can't be beat.

Thanks!

I do see a LOT of mono red goblin decks popping up on the site now. That's awesome.

Maybe this Friday should be mono-red goblins day... ha!

Nice man.

I knew we could bring the goblins back!

And I think you'd be successful running one less mountain. Your mana curve is very low, like mine, so I'd take advantage of that and put more spells in instead lands.

You're right. And I guess I would put a couple of mox's in if they were cheap like most of the cards in the deck are. But, I'm keeping with the $15 theme of the deck.

I think I'll leave those expensive decisions to the individuals who decide to borrow my deck idea to make their own. If you want cheap, I've got cheap. If you want expensive, you can probably do better than a goblin deck.

Thanks for the comments!
Ideas are always welcome.... except for Liliana... no more Liliana's..

Ok. Why?

He'll only attack every turn like everyone else does. And I don't get the added removal bonus with him that I do with the arsonist.

I had mox opal in there before and it just got sac'd more than used as an extra land. And the shields ARE just for sac'ing, but not as useless as the relics.

And I definitely added some shrines. I don't know if I'll go to 4 yet. Maybe though. I'll have to play with it a few times to get a feel for it again.

So true. I've seen countless solar flares and different variations on the same 5 standard decks. I wanted one that could surprise and be competitive without having 6 sofaf's or 8 snapcaster's in it.

You want me to go through and list all the ways it can win by turn 4?

Jeez.

Here's another one-

Turn 1
Draw memnite(s) throw them down,
accorder's shield - throw that down as well,
mountain -tap to cast kuldotha rebirth and sac accorder's shield (put out 3 - 1/1 goblins on turn 1)
*pass turn*

Turn 2
lay down another mountain (or contested warzone)
cast curse of stalked prey
attack for 4 (depending on how many memnites you layed down)
*pass turn*

Turn 3
lay down 3rd mountain
cast goblin chieftain
assuming you still have the original 4 attackers, (who are all 2/2 from stalked prey) ATTACK for 13...
*pass turn*

Turn 4
lay down 4th mountain if you have it. It won't really matter since there's only 3 damage left to do.
attack with everything for 18
If they kill your creatures during attack phase, just cast brimstone volley. If they dont kill your creatures during attack phase, just cast brimstone volley. Goblin grenade could prevent the entire last attack from being necessary, anyways.

That's another way to deal 20+ points of damage by turn 4.

I'm sure if you looked through the cards, you could find many more yourself.

And liliana, as good as she may be, doesn't quite do what I need in this deck... like be a red card... or help goblins.... or make funny jokes.

I like the red and blue combo.

Have you thought about adding in some past in flames'?
