Consider Mogg War Marshal, it gives you the same number of creatures right off, one of which replaces itself when devoured.

If you're going to play Grixis Maralen, add Stranglehold. You can fetch whatever you want each turn, but your opponents are locked.
The lands I listed in the heading are replacements for the very expensive ones. this deck is definitely not budget at all.
