Deck Description

You can feel it in the pit of your stomach. Aching, crawling, turning, groaning; you hunger. You gaze out at your turf, looking for something to eat...

Hunger no more! With this deck, you will have no end to the tasty food which drives you onward. Centered on the ability Devour, this deck pumps out plenty of little guys early game, all waiting to be eaten to power up your late game finishers.

The onslaught starts early as you send out little guy after little guy. They can swing you some early game damage as well as block attacks as you build up your feast. Don't feel sorry for them tough, they want to be eaten! Sprouting Thrinax, Tukatongue Thallid, Brindle Shoat, Mitotic Slime, and Penumbra Spider all net you creatures once eaten, and Viridian Emissary can find you some land. Mudbutton Torch runner deals some explosive damage when he is devoured as well. Other cards, like Beetleback Chief and Awakening Zone, add more and more  creatures to your ever-growing lunch. Lacking supplies? Use spells such as Traitorous Blood to nab yourself a quick attacker as well as another tasty morsel to add to your plate. Pick an opponents biggest creature, and watch their eyes widen as you devour it in one gulp!

The feast is prepared, so bring on the hungry customers! This deck is packed with a wide variety of devourers, each bringing their own tastes to the table. The picky Voracious Dragon loves goblins, while Preyseizer Dragon likes to try all of your entrées. Hellkite Hatchling is a light eater, only needing one small meal to power up, while Mycoloth is so grateful for the dish, he helps make more! The chow-down champ of them all is Thromok the Insatiable. This hungry fellow is content only once his plate has been cleaned! With Devour X, the more food you send his way the better!

Overrun and Warstorm Surge add two alternative endings to your food-based strategy. Warstorm Surge deals damage equal to the power of a creature you just played. Combined with devour, that can add up to a huge amount. Overrun also provides for a twist to your lunch. If it would appear that your food changed its mind and would prefer to not get eaten, at least for today, give your horde of food +3/+3 and trample and let THEM crush the opponents under foot!

After you finish your plate and your opponents, make sure you clean up! Wash the dishes, wipe off the table, and wait with high hopes for your next meal!

How to Play

Dig in! Early game you will want to get out as many little guys as possible. Tokens, one drops, etc. are all waiting to be eaten. Most even help you out when they die, so dont be afraid to chow down! Once the big guys are out and fed, you can begin the destruction. Warning: This deck, especially Thromok, calls for some heavy math. If you aren't up to snuff on your multiplication, make sure to bring a calculator with you!
