Deck Description

This is just a concept deck, based on my knowledge of how a good ally deck should run.

As always, suggestions are welcome.

could probably swap a couple of talus paladins for Jwari shapeshifters to be a bit faster. :)

I used to have a deck almost identical to this. but gave it to a friend. they added the Jace, the archive traps and the Talus Paladins to it.

at it's best it could mill 3 people (all at once) by about turn... 7-10 or so. the defense is just solid as a rock with Gomazoa and the hada freeblade that just keeps getting bigger.

How to Play

there are a couple of ways to play this deck really well.
turn 1 with a plains and Hada Freeblade, then followed up with a Halimar excavator turn two and another dose of both on turn 3. this ends up milling for... 16 cards on turn 3. so a great start.

the other way you could go is turn 1 island and Hedron crab, then follow up with another land and Halimar excavator turn two, and another on turn three accompanied by a Hada Freeblade. ending up milling for... 17 cards on turn 3.

after that... really anything is good, and will be enough to tremendously dishearten your opponent for pretty much the rest of the game. which won't last much longer. :)

Deck discussion for allies of hatred

You could get a lot of late game benefit out of conjurers closet, or deadeye navigator. Even flickerwisp. Bouncing allies every turn is pretty damn powerful, especially if you throw in cathars crusade for even twice as many counters on graypelts and such per flicker

Good call. I hadn't even thought about cathars crusade or the closet for late game. Those are way good suggestions. I will have to try and find a way to fit them in. :)

yup... :( I know. sadly, I didn't have $15 dollars, and I didn't know how valuable Mindsculptor was. nor did pretty much anybody that I was playing with back then.

yeah my friend had an almost identical situation too, his friend offered to sell him his cards, including 2 mindsculptors for $5 and my friend thought that was a rip off...

dang... I have to say that the suckiest thing like that, has to be a friend of mine who FOUND an alpha black lotus, and gave it to a friend of his because he didn't play. The guy told him that it and the other cards that he had found weren't valuable at all.
later he started to play, and found out how much it was worth... needles to say they weren't friends for much longer.

i just dont understand why someone would pay so much money for a piece of carboard. it frustrates me.

yeah... I know. but it is like collecting baseball cards, people like them, and some are hard to come by, and some of them people like to use a lot, and both raise the "value" a ton. it is what keeps Wizards of the Coast in business really.

surely, who in their right mind would spend thousands of dollars on some cardboard when they could spend that money on something that is actually worth its price, like a car...

well, just like anything else, the market for cards goes up based on what people are willing to pay for them. It makes very little sense to me why ANYONE would pay that much but hey, if I can make some money from it why not ?

yeah me and a friend were actually gonna buy cards from the states and sell them in new zealand where they are a lot more expensive, but we just couldn't be bothered with the hassle.

For a faster ally deck, red is generally the way to go, but this deck just confuses me.

what do you find confusing about it?

Well,.... I´m just going to ignore some things.

Ok, in your deck you have 13 allies, and 4 Join the Ranks, which isn´t really enough for Halimar Excavator, and 4 of them cost far more than Excavator. I would be making that more of a them, with cards like Expedition envoy. Something far better than Join the Ranks now exists in Unified Front. Since you have a very light mana cost in your deck, you could play another 2 basics of different colors in your deck to make it even better, with several Terramorphic Expanse.

well ok, this is the deck as it was when I had it, other than the familiars ruse. So by no means is it perfect. it was also only cards that were standard in the Zendikar block. so expedition envoy didn't exist yet. :) I am going to have to edit this deck based on newer ally cards. See if I can improve it.

I guess that when I posted this it was not a representation of the best version of the deck, just the one that I had. :)

also, it won't offend me if you wanted to break what is wrong with this deck further, so that I can improve it more.

thanks. :)

EDIT: while I do like unified front, I am not sure that I like it at sorcery speed. so I will have to think about that.

It's look look like a funny deck but I think Hada feerblade is very expencive card I prefer Kazandu Blademaster

Kazandu Blademaster is interesting but at WW it might be asking a little too much for an opening piece here, particularly since it would vie for a position with halimar excavator, which is kind of the core of the deck.
I like Hada Freeblade as a turn one card, which Blademaster can't do.

Now It could replace Talus Paladin instead, as he is the most expensive creature in the deck, and that might make sense to reduce the mana curve.

Yes talus paladin is very good creature but your deck is relly expencive

Yeah. Sadly Magic is expensive to play. :(
Wish it was cheaper. I would actually own more of the decks I design here if that were the case.

Sometimes you can only build a deck piece by piece here and there. Spending money on one or two cards at a time when you can.
