Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (6 cards)

Creatures (2)

Enchantments (4)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

simple aura deck built around the Gnarlids. I liked the idea of being able to manipulate your opponent while still pumping you own creatures.

Any comments of advice would be welcome. :)

Going to replace torpor dust with slimebind.

Deck discussion for Aura you scared yet?

Hi Kazzong,

General concept I like Gnarlid + enchantments, but it's to simple a concept.
If you're going to use Legacy cards try to use the Legacy creatures that really abuse enchantments
Argothian Enchantress and Verduran Enchantress.

Here's a typical Legacy Enchantress deck. Take a look at it to get ideas.

Creatures
4 Argothian Enchantress

Enchantments
1 Blood Moon
4 Elephant Grass
4 Enchantress's Presence
1 Energy Field
1 Illusions of Grandeur
1 Moat
2 Oblivion Ring
1 Puca's Mischief
1 Sigil of the Empty Throne
2 Solitary Confinement
4 Sterling Grove
4 Utopia Sprawl
1 Wheel of Sun and Moon
4 Wild Growth

Instants
4 Enlightened Tutor

Legendary Creatures
1 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn

Sorceries
1 Replenish

Basic Lands
4 Forest
3 Plains

Lands
2 Horizon Canopy
2 Savannah
1 Taiga
1 Tropical Island
4 Windswept Heath

Legendary Lands
2 Serra's Sanctum

Sideboard:
1 Pithing Needle
1 Baneslayer Angel
1 Choke
1 City of Solitude
1 Ground Seal
4 Leyline of Sanctity
1 Oblivion Ring
1 Seal of Primordium
1 Solitary Confinement
1 Stony Silence
2 Replenish

Personally I'd probably play with both Enchantresses and 4 Rancor and figure out a way to keep enchanting a zero cost crearture like Ornithropter then sacrificing it to Altar of Dementia with Enduring Renewal in play to infinitely cast Ornithropter and Rancor and draw infinite cards with Enchantress in play to draw for a combo win.

Of if your really want to abuse Gnarlid figure out a way get multiple copies of enchantments using cards like Enduring Ideal, Eternal Dominion, Copy Enchantment using Show and Tell to get them into play fast.

ok. I see. admittedly I am on a tight budget at the moment, but I would love to get my hands on those cards. really like the enchantresses, and the pithing needle. (well, all of them really.) But for this deck I think that I would like to keep it more focused on the gnarlids, So, I might try and find better auras and cards based around copying enchantments, and so on...

again, thanks for your input on my decks. I really appreciate your willingness to help me improve. :)

First of all, I love the name of this deck. Second, I am not quite sure how well the Vedalkan Anatomist works in this deck, and Aura Finesse is a nice card, helps a little in an aura deck. What about Bear Umbra? Its a little on the expensive side but I think its effect more than makes up for it.

well, I posted the deck as is, and not as it will be when I am done with it.

secondly, the anatomist fills a twofold role: it can can tap, and place -1/-1 counters on my opponents creatures, making aura gnarlid harder to block. the other thing it does is work with the wickerbough elder, so that I can use his ability multiple times. give him a counter, then I can take it off to destroy an artifact or enchantment.

I tried aura finesse in here, but I couldn't fit it in without taking away something that seemed more important. If I could fit it in then I most certainly would. and bear umbra... I just don't have any. but yeah, I woud love to have them in here as well.

thanks for the comments. :)

Perhaps swap out the Overruns for Rancor? If you get it in the right set, it's even a common!

Rancor is good. I wish that I had more of them. Only have two and they are in another deck. :)
But I bet that I can probably find a few. :)

Neat! One more thing you might look into is Canopy Cover, generally unblockable and big creatures are quick targets for removal, so getting hexproof on them is nice insurance.

Canopy cover is an excellent card. In fact I used to have 2 in here. However I found that the cancels, umbras, regenerate ahead auras, and vines of vastwood, which gives hexproof, were pretty solid at keeping my creatures alive. :). Also with this deck I tended to not beef up just one creature. I prefer to enchant everything I have out (other than maybe the sporecap spiders) and spread around the threats instead of having a single standout creature add the biggest loud on the block that MUST be removed. Everything is equally as dangerous. :).

As is I know that I could improve this deck a TON. But I don't know what I would really take out to add in canopy cover. Most people would probably tell me to drop most of the blue enchantments since the don't DIRECTLY pump my creatures and thus don't give then the maximum lethality, but I find that this type of a setup makes for a more interesting deck. At least in my opinion. :)
