Life=Death

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (15 cards)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

life and death are one and the same in this deck... Not sure why they made a reverse card for sanguine bond... good thing they aren't both legal in standard.

When the new cards are available, and I have some money... this is the first thing that I am going to build.
side-board updated, but still not set in stone. (note, first deck to post this combo.)

4/26/2012, deck updated. -1 demonic tutor, -2 hideous end. -1 batwing brume, +4 dark ritual
6/3/2012, update. false update.
6/13/2012, update: I emailed Wizards, and they said that this combo really does work. It is fine to run.

Suggestions would be great!!! :)

speaking of suggestions, I could use some input on a few other decks too. If you liked this one take a look at these and help me out please.

this one is basically a battle cry deck, with a few tweaks.
http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=327107

this one is a discard kill deck.
http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=326608

and this one is a simple deck to teach people how to play the game. I would really like feedback on this one the most.

Hahaha oh my god. I'm just seeing Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond out at the same time. You gain one life, they lose one life via Sanguine Bond, you gain another life from that via Exquisite Blood, they lose another 1 via Sanguine Bond, and onward to infinity. Lol that's awesome. I would recommend considering adding Vault of the Archangel, since you're running black/white. Lifelink/deathtouch is a great ability for any deck, and the lifeline will really just give you that extra punch for this deck

yup. That is the whole reason for this deck. I saw the exquisite blood, and I went nutso. :) I will most certainly look into the vault, to if it would help me out. probably will. :) thanks for the comment.

i wonderif that combo will effect non standard at all. its a little expensive, but legacy can pull it off turn 2 or 3. It needs dark rituals.

Great combo! Love the insta--death aspect when you gain a life or an opponent loses one. But i do agree with the comments above of dark rituals would really make this deck go off

Looks pretty good, but I would swap the numbers on Deathgreeter and Pulse Tracker. Pulse will help you more than DG over all. I would also take out 2 of each of the enchantments. I know they're the focus of the deck, and it's a great trick, but having 4 of each makes for a really ugly and slow mana curve.

I might use that extra space for some more bleeders like Pillory of the Sleepless, etc. You could also use the spot for Tainted Sigil, since that could be devastating in a deck like this.

0

I would suggest you throw a few "Fallen Angel" into this deck, they fit right in and wold add a ton of power to the deck, in terms of their affects.

I really like the fallen angel, but I think that it would slow down what the deck is designed to do. I will certainly take it into consideration if I need more oomph. :)
Thanks for the suggestion. :)

Find some unblockables or grab a whispersilk cloak... And lifeline is only one white mana so also a good card... Phyresis adds infect and it's black but I dunno the mana cost. But besides the extra twists this is a sick ass deck! Keep it up

The unblockables are a way good idea, and i will certainly look into that.
As for the phyresis... It is a way good card, but I don't think that it would fit this deck, because it doesn't cause life loss. Thanks for the comments.. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that since this is an uncontrolled combo that the game would end in a draw right after you activate it. Not sure since it technically does have an end but I do know that and combos that you can't control the amount of times it happens ends the game with no winners.

Funny idea though

Not true at all with this deck. Let's say you have both combo pieces out, annnnnd here we go!!!

You gain one life.
Sanguine triggers.
Sanguine resolves.
Exquisite triggers.
Exquisite resolves.
Sanguine triggers.
Sanguine resolves.
etc. etc. etc.

This WILL end - once Sanguine's ability resolves and your opponent has 0 life as a result. How can the game keep going on after you've won? It can't. As soon as someone's life is 0 (barring Phyrexian Unlife and other specific cards), the game is over, and you sir, have won with a broken combo!

Very nice deck, I made a similar one for casual mulitplayer with friends, and they do NOT enjoy it - none of them play any extraction at all :D

1
Posted 30 April 2012 at 04:27

I asked a judge about it and he said it works because each effect resolves one at a time and the game does end.

Honestly Id bump it up to four of each of the Sanguine Bond and Exquisite Blood. An instant kill combo deserves the best possible chances to activate. Take out the Pillory of the Sleepless to make room for it.

You really only need one or two of each of your combo pieces with the tutor... run 4 Brainspoil and this thing will be Modern legal!

I don't quite get why you need a Demonic Tutor. I don't think it goes too well with the deck theme, and it costs tons of money.

I like the brainspoil, perhaps I might run that instead of the tutors. Also the tutors aren't always expensive depending on where you get them.

I dont know if hissing miasma would fit into this deck, but with the combo it would kill them to attack you, and it could give you time to get your combo in the first place.

0

soo this deck has alot of problems first off you have demonic tutor wich makes this deck type 1 and cant hold a flame not even a little one. secondly u have dark ritual so even if you were to get rid of demonic tutor its legacy and your deck doesnt do anything without its combo and 805 of the decks r blue so good luck resolving both parts of your combo even the non blue aggro decks have enchantment removal. its cute in theory and maybe fun if you ever resolve them both but the deck literally does nothing if it doesnt have both enchantments and i drew a ton of sample hands and hte likely hood of even getting there till like turn 7-8 is nigh. i find is impossibly funnt that this deck has so many likes when in reality its a pile of junk

-1
Posted 01 May 2012 at 15:31

if you want real help cut the tutor yes there the best card in the deck but you cant play 4 in any format and you want to be in legacy add
4 grim monolith
4 enlightened tutor
some hand disruption i.e. thought sieze
possibly sensies diving top
there is no need for the really bad removal spells when u have access to swords to plowshares and u can target your own creatures to trigger your combo
and i would add blue to the mix it gives you access to powerful cards like brainstorm and ponder to help you set up easier and possible counter magic to ensure you resovle your combo all the creatures are clutter they are any good as 1/1 bodies the life trigger lands are more than enough

0

and what qualifications, might I ask, do you have to say that my deck is junk? Just because it doesn't cost an arm and a leg, and isn't full of legacy/vintage uber power cards like force of will and such, does not mean it isn't a good deck. Oh and just. FYI, if you actually want people to take your advice seriously... Don't be so condescending.

Yes, i know the tutor isn't legal in any format other than casual. And if i was going to play this deck in anything else I would most certainly change that. also, if i was gonna play anything else with it, it would be modern, not legacy, because i know that it wouldn't have a chance against most of the overpowered cards in that format.

even decks in modern are verry aggresive and i own a turn 2-4 win combo deck u need premission and to make it more direct at doing what it wants to do i get that u can alternately win with the 1/1s but its very unlikely in a foramt with forked bolt and arc trail heavy i am not so versed in the possible addition for modern that could potentially make this deck better i am just saying there r better thing you could be doing in any given format and i appologize for being snoddy or rude its just flabergasting the amount of feed back a deck of its stature has recieved did you see the top deck in the website the article about ppl puttung up decks that dont help this is a prime example and it makes the site worse players in whole by wasting time on something that has no potential at winning anything anywhere ever not even fun games

My friend has a combo with this type of deck. He utilizes Forbidden Orchard to give your opponent 1/1 spirits and in turn, giving you life with all your other creatures. Sleeper Agent might also be a good idea considering it's 2/3 life loss with your ability to easily gain that 3 back consistently.

Mind checking out my G/W standard build? Thanks!

It results in as much as your opponents have life. Then the game ends. So... Yes and no. Ot could if your opponents had inf. Life somehow, because it ends when they cannot lose anymore life.

I do hafta say one thing, there is a new errata stating that if you create an infinite combo that you CANNOT stop (like the one you have) that you automatically lose, regardless of the infinite effect. Check out wizards on the exact wording but yeah, the combo will make you lose.
