Deck Description

basic prison deck that makes use of the thoroughly BROKEN Mana Web.
seriously. Mana Web is a broken card by all definitions.

as always, comments and suggestions are welcome. Always looking to improve my decks. :)

How to Play

Mana Web is the key to this deck. it makes you opponent conserve Mana, and punishes him/her for using lands that add multiple colors.

Throwing out cards like Ghostly prison or Oppressive Rays helps keep that pressure up after they have creatures out.

Essentially they can only play 1 mana spells from that point on in the game, while you are free to play as you wish. :)

Mana Web. Classic.
I actually own 4 copies.
Yummy card.
+1 for trying to use Mana Web WITHOUT green cards/elfs/mana.

And they brought back the Medallions!!!

indeed they did, but they are for commander... grumble, grumble... :(

and I figured that since Mana Web only effects my opponents, I don't need creature based mana production.

oh, and Ienvy you for owning 4 vopies of mana web. I want some.

my biggest concern is if I really need the medallions or not. I know that they are nice, but are they really going to give me the advantage that I think they will? :(
that is really where I want some advice.

Maybe wrong...but I thought Mana Web affects you too.
And if Web does affect you (which I am pretty sure it does, which is why most people run them with green elf mana ramp decks), you will need the Medallions for mana support.
I bought 4 Mana Webs and 4 Winter Orbs together, back in the day. Never got around to making them into a deck though.

well, here is the effect rulings on the card:
Whenever any land target opponent controls is tapped for mana, tap all lands he or she controls that can produce any type of mana that land can produce.

so it really only effects a single person at a time. unless there has been an Errata stating otherwise.

Maybe it is Winter Orb I am thinking about...
Sorry.
Check those two bad boys out together.
Mana Web + Winter Orb.
I still want a make a deck out of them.
The lack of mana burn really hurts Mana Webs power.

yeah, winter orb does effect everyone. only untap a single land per turn... ouch.
Mana web is a beast with winter orb.

a friend of mine had a deck with winter orb, high tide, and Leviathan. it was pretty crazy. It was far better than it sounds. it was a joke deck at first, but it could hold its own once it got going.

yeah, lack of mana burn does hurt it a bit. Power sink is another fun card with winter orb and mana web.

Grand Arbiter would be funny. On another note, legendary pokemon are hard to catch in pokeballs.

Get them down to very low hit points...and throw like 99 balls at them.
They are so great at avoiding balls, like lesbians, lol.

My metagross specifically knows hold back so I don't kill them. With the occasional master ball, I only use pokeballs.

Haven't played since Pokemon Red. And gameboy color.
My 2 year old son throw the gameboy color on the floor...and it no longer works :(
I remember buying the gameboy and game brand new, when they first came out....spent well over 100 dollars!!!

My GBA SP was stolen along with all of my games. Sadly no missingno or cloning since GBC.

Yes, missingno!!
Where you walked up and down a certain beach shore. You fought like level 200 creatures and missingno!!
It would mess your Hall of Fame, or whatever it was, up, though.
Was an easy way to level up though.
And I am pretty sure you could pokeyball those level 200 creatures too!

Drop Pearl and Ray by 1 each?
Not sure. Might have to test around with it.

Probably -1 pearl +1 grand. I like rays.

ok, that sounds good. I don't think that pearl gives me a big boost so... yeah.

actually, think that I could run without the medallions?

Umm...well, since the stuff like Grand Aribter/Enforcer/Prison want to be put out asap, sure, I can see where keeping the Medallions would help.

Totally up to you, friend.

And bonus for you if you run Elephant Graveyard.

well, my thinking is this. it doesn't decrease the colored cost by anything. just the colorless cost. so even though it helps, does it actually make the deck faster?

answer: it probably does, but unclear until I actually test this deck. :(

Other ideas would be Rhystic Study. Will draw you cards because he can't afford to pay the 1.
Might be too slow for the deck though.

Chancellor of the Annex goes nice with Enforcer.
Soul Barrier

Hell...you just gave me an idea for a deck.
Use all cards that have the wording "unless opponent pays X mana."

yeah, I actually got the idea for this deck from rhystic study. pretty sweet card. :) chancellor of the annex is an excellent card. :) super useful opening game and mid game if you can get it out.

oh, and power sink. :)
