Goblin war strike can be good with Krenko on board, especially since you don't have to sacrifice goblins like goblin grenade.

It is a theme deck, but since i'm running 30 dollar Eldrazi and other expensive cards, I might as well make it as good as possible while still staying on theme.

Invasion plans is awesome, i would add crucible but i'm not running fetch lands, i used to run world at war and enslave but didn't have space to keep them, not of this world is good...but i just can't convince myself to spend 7 mana on a counter spell, seems a bit much, the rest of the stuff is alright but not quite worth the include. Thanks for Invasion plan though, it's exactly what i'm looking for.

you can have as many legendary creatures in your deck as you want...although i do like the idea of a format like commander with no legendaries in main deck...interesting idea.

I'd add hero of bladehold to go along with that hero of oxid ridge.

I don't blame you, no sane person spends hundreds of dollars on one card

so is this a sideboard, or are these cards you're considering to include?

Anything that makes rafiq unblockable is amazing: Venser (the pw), Sovereigns of lost alara into Steel of the godhead, maybe even artful dodge (although i haven't tried it yet). The same is true for evasion, angelic destiny and shield of the oversoul being favorites of mine. Add plenty of small exalted creatures that you can play before rafiq hits the field to increase exalted triggers (for instance, i think qasali pridemage and noble hierarch are auto-includes due to their low cmc, relevant abilities, and exalted triggers). I've found that running lots of board wipes works well, since rafiq alone will be your wincon in most cases. Tutors are always good: wargate, eldrami's call, worldy tutor, maybe even mystical tutor/enlightened tutor depending on your approach to the deck. I'd recommend additional ways to protect rafiq: more swords and lightning greaves/swiftfoot boots. Some card draw that's relevant: Garruk, primal hunter after increasing a creatures power with exalted triggers. Other cards that i include as protection in long games: propaganda and ghostly prison. That's pretty much all i've got on rafiq, good luck with deck construction!

Yeah, i started out designing this deck as a shirei mono black deck, which was fine and functional. But i've noticed that a lot of people are going that same route, and i wanted my deck to be distinct (and also wanted access to more colors to add variety to the deck). Jund has allowed me to focus not only on shadowborns demon-tutor ability, but also the possibility of using the shadowborns as capable attackers...which is good, because i'm running 25 of them. I'd definitely try searching for other generals that have good interactions with shadowborns and playing around with other color combinations. I've found that green in particular is very effective, giving you access to cards like bloodbond march, mana reflection, and garruk. Thanks for the comment :)

In EDH, your deck can only include the colors of your general...and this deck revolves around a black card: shadowborn apostle. I'd seriously consider that you look up EDH (or commander) and read the rules, it would clarify everything i'm trying to explain and perhaps give better insight into how this deck, and other EDH decks, work.

This is EDH...a format that requires a 100 card deck including 1 general and no other duplicate cards other than basic lands...the reason i'm able to play 30 shadowborn apostles is the wording of the card, which bends the above stated rules for EDH. I'm not new to magic, i've been playing for over a year, and made plenty of 60 card decks for other formats...before composing such an elaborate comment, read the title of the deck "EDH: Sek'Kuar's Apostles" and notice "EDH", perhaps research what that is, and then inevitably save yourself the time of explaining to a seasoned player how card quantities work and "how to make a better deck". That comment is kind of offensive...

Yeah...i started out with the intent of creating a super fast paced deck that could draw me tons of cards...sorta of like turbo fog without the fog aspect...but i also wanted to generally boost the pace of the game and the number of cards i could play each turn, which meant -for me- adding mana doublers. Although the purpose of this deck is, objectively speaking, to mill opponents out, it's also meant to be somewhat fun for them as they draw 6 cards a turn and have access to 20 mana to play some, if not most, of those cards. I've tried integrating the same idea into crazy fast edh decks using Seizan or Kami as generals, and even a BUG build with Maelstrom Wanderer just for the joy of ripping through my entire deck as quick as possible with perfect randomness. Those decks never reached fruition (didn't even play with them on Cockatrice), but this deck has been pretty amusing for me as a go-to casual deck on cockatrice (not really ready to step into modern with a deck like this). Sorry for the long, long response, i'm very enthusiastic about this deck.

possibly, however vexing devil kind of loses its value in the late game as a potential beater, since most people will let him resolve and will already have sufficient blockers on the field. Also, vexing devil isn't as impressive because of the 40 life total in commander, it's just about half effective and many decks run some sort of life gain.

also, orphidian eye works the same as curisoity to go infinite. I'd really try to acquire those two cards, and also dracogenius...dracogenius is 3 bucks, the other two are less than a dollar if you just want to order them online.

Ugh, i wrote a long response but it some how got deleted. Anyways, i've made some adjustments to the deck, hopefully for the better. I really like the idea of shivan wurm, and i've gone on to add horned kavu as another "blink", "etb" effect. Thragtusk and craterhoof were in the original version of the deck, but i switched them out. Just switched in thragtusk- i just like this card way too much to keep it out- but i'm not crazy about craterhoof in a non-token build (plus i'm not crazy about his casting cost). Skyshroud was only marginal so i cut it, even if i do like the idea of reusable creature tutoring. Many of the non-creature spells i'm not too keen about cutting, especially the low cmc artifacts which help significantly to accelerate into and protect ruric. Some enchantments could be cut, but a few are kind of nicely thematic with the whole anti-control purpose of this deck. I'm still testing this deck on cockatrice, and haven't bought a single card for it yet, so more improvement shall follow. Thanks for the long comment, hope this is a long enough response.
