I've finally arrived at a promising heartless summoning deck for the current meta. The most difficult aspect of building around heartless is finding an alternative ramp plan, since birds and noble are off the table. This deck capitalizes on the artifact card type with grand architect and etherium sculptur, a two card combo that itself produces 4 mana on turn 3 to cast lodestone golem or solemn, lodestone being the best incentive to playing artifacts. I wanted to play chalice as one of the better hate cards in the format and a catchall mainboard solution to 90% of decks (eldrazi Tron being the unfortunate exception). Trinket mage (1u tutor with heartless) opens up a range of other options for mainboard hate and strengthens the sb hate cards it finds (engineered explosives against aggro or tokens, gravesweeps, or pithing needle against PWs). I've broadened the range of sb options by splashing red, giving me access to rakdos charm against affinity and GY decks, and crumble to dust against Tron. Against sb artifact hate, I've included 4 collective brutality, which also plays well in the vizier druid matchup and fights burn. The gameplan is to beat down with golems, duplicants (exiling death's shadow?), and wurmcoil. Comment with suggestions!
