Deck Description

Based on drawing the rejereys and the Merfolk sovereigns ( MTG vault did not update to M10, so i replaced them with Lord of Atlantis)

my basic engines are:

To create an army with Summon The School and Stonybrook Schoolmaster to bring it back to my hand, while adding more merfolk and to use Drowner of Secrets + Merrow Commerce to control their tempo of the game.

I use cards like Harpoon Sniper and Silvergill douser to make sure the opponents attacks don't affect me, and i use the reejerey's effect to tap creatures with potentially annoying effects. Eventually I will play worship, so that the opponent cannot win.

However, if i did not win by then, i use the infinite turn combo with my wanderwine prophets and summon the school.

worship has nothing to do in this deck and lord of atlantis is waaaaaaaay better than sovereign
cause it makes all your creatures unbklockable

play aqcuitect thingy i don't remember the name
making th eopponents land island and making all your merrows unblockable

selkie is handy too it makes you draw cardsfor each dammage it deals and it has islandwalk

first of all, i use the sovereign because i can tap to make it unblockable, also, worship is very useful in my deck, because then THEY CANNOT REDUCE ME TO LESS THAN ONE. the streambed aquitect is basically useless. if i used lord of atlantis it would give them islandwalk, but i dont like landwalk, because its just... not universal

there is only 1 merfolk deck that made it to the top 8 and it ended on 1st place

sovereign is too slow t costs 1 more than atllantis dude.
and making 1 monster unblockable makes no sense. listen di dyou know that if you play
4 merfolks a lord of atlantis and a acquitects will you win?
you will swing for 20 damage or more.

i wasn't talking about streambed thing but about acquitect's will . it will make 1 of your opponents lands an island and even make you draw a card !

so all your merfolks are onblockables you will finish your opponent in 1 or 2 turns
believe me

and worship is really useless believe me. if you thin k like that every card could be usefull in any deck.

worship must not be in it cause this deck is made to kill in 1 turn.

4cursecatcher, 4silvergill adept, 4 atlantis 4 reejerey 4 selkies and most of all!
4 syggs aaaaand ! counterspells!

im going to put that in my sideboard, because this deck is already working pretty well for me, and i dont have enough money to buy more cards right now

dont go for the stupid sovereign it SUCKS merfolk decks actually arent all that good but theres a combination of 2 cards that put merfolk on first place and several times in top 8

guess what: lord of atlantis + aquitects will/tideshaper mystic

srr that is the most efficient way to build merfolk as i said they arent all that good but that combination makes merfolk truly evilll

why sygg 4 times? i asked myself that q as well you know cuz its kinda weird to play a legendary 4 times but HAH guess what it works u NEED syg to prtect your little critters till they get beefed up and islandwalk you opponent to death 5 creatures with island walk +2+2 and aquitects will really HURT i mean thats at least 15 damage and not all merfolk ore 1/1 so it cud even b instakill and with sygg its really easy to maintain your field prescence since you can protects your monsters cheap and in opp turn silver gill adept makes for draw power and adds speed to your game so you can easily get the killers out quickly and since they're cheap you really cant go wrong with them i mean u get a monster 2/1 AND a draw thats really not bad i mean its not uber l33t or sumthin but its not bad cursecatcher together with some runsnags in your deck can really mess you opponents game up

merfolk can kill but they are limited in options rly if you want them to be competitive it's aggro control merfolk U/W colored so...srr but this is really no good the merfolk deck i have would take this out easily rebuild add some nice perks of yourself(i did 2 i based my merfolk on a 1st place winner and on top 8 decks) anyway this deck is 2 zeta slow

i dont understand what ur saying, but i think i get it. use the lord of atlantis to give them all islandwalk, then use the mystic the turn target land into an island, swing for 20, unblockable, right?

anyway, my parents dont let me buy cards now, imma stuck with the ones i have now. however, i would sidedeck lord and tideshaper, if i could get lord of atlantis.

why do you need to keep it in standard? Your not going to play any tournys. And lol. Kenneth, this is an intermisiion, you dont buy cards anymore
btw happy birthday!
ROFL that is the worst bday present your parents can give you. BTW, you really need more protection. A burn deck will just burn down your main merfolk, or something as simple as a shuriken on a ninja can kill off most of your meroflk :D
