My Giants deck, more fun than efficient, created to play with friends who had just started Magic and were struggling against my old Vintage decks. It's quite slow but it can still surprise you!
As the deck's name suggests, the main problem with giants is the fact that they will take ages to be efficient - just the opposite of goblins, in fact. Once awake, they have some pretty solid arguments, but will you still be alive to see them destroying your opponent? Ah...Therefore, the main ideas behind this deck are:- to slow down your opponent. That's a job for Orim's Chant. Do not hesitate to play it turn 2 (or even 1 if you play against a weenie) just to get an extra turn.- to use fast, cheap giants with small defaults. The Blind-Spot Giant, the Bloodfray Giant and the Boldwyr Heavyweight will be there as fast as possible, and they have heavy arguments in their favour to compensate their various defaults.- to accelerate the whole process with the Sol Ring and the Stinkdrinker Daredevil.- to get rid of the opposition with Aether Flash, Swords to Plowshares and Lightning Bolt- and to take advantage of your own strength with Favor of the Mighty and Spirit Link (watch out, the Link will not be compatible with Favor of the Mighty!)That's pretty much it, really. The land balance matches roughly the number of cards in each colour (around 30% of white cards, and the same percentage of Plains) and the double lands are here to ensure that you will always get the mana you need.Enjoy!
