Deck Description

This deck infects, and infects fast.

Combos:

Kiln Fiend + tainted strike + assault strobe = 16 counters, 4 mana to play, two turns to set up.

Spikeshot Elder + Tainted strike + Vampires bite = 5 counters, 5 mana to play, single turn. Tap an additional three mana to end the game for 5 more counters.

Phyrexian Crusaders have protection from red, Slagstorm and Pyroclasm to clear the field, then pump the crusaders like crazy while they charge in unchecked.

Deck discussion for B/R Infect (Black Flames)

I love any deck that does things fast, and thanks to your description, it does really well :D plus board wipe for late game with that crusader still in play, unbelievable combos in this deck I havent seen other people try yet. Brilliant show. My suggestion is (maybe at the sideboard) get some livewire lashes out, so that you can equip your crusader, and when it gets targeted, it deals 2 infect damage, another one would be if you equip the fiend in late game then cast tainted strike, it would pretty much do the same thing

Just a suggestion :P

livewire lash in my experience is usually too slow in my experience (I tried it a few times)

Also I point out that pyroclasm and slagstorm will still kill the phyrexian crusader because it is a nontargeted spell.

The Crusader would actually survive. There's an acronym which details what Protection will cover: DEBT (Damage, Enchant/Equip, Block, Target). Pyroclasm and Slagstorm both DAMAGE, so they in fact can't touch the Crusader.

Wyrsa, I agree with your comment on livewire lash. I have played infect in every color combination possible, and in almost every case I feel that it is too slow. It can combo nicely, but I prefer to just pump and kill you that turn.
Also, pyroclasm and slagstorm would NOT affect the crusaders, you are wrong there. Protection from a color doesnt mean you cannot be targeted by those spells, it means that you cannot be blocked, affected, damaged, or targeted by that color. Yes pyroclasm and slagstorm would (technically) hit the Crusaders, but they would be completely unharmed.

so day of judgement would not kill the crusader then?

Yes, DoJ would kill the Crusader. As I pointed out before, there's that lovely acronym. DESTROY is not part of that acronym, so any global destroy would kill the Crusader.

Yes, Judgment works.

Land count is based more on personal preference, I prefer to be able to drop at least one land every turn, 22 would definately still be functional but the 24 is simply my own preference.

day of judgement would kill him. Slagstorms damage would be dealt to Crusader. It does not target him. It deals damage to him and all other creatures. Due to pro red the damage is reduced to 0. Day of Judgement does not target him it wipes everything.
