Deck Description

I saw Hidetsugu's Second Rite. I made an evil deck around it.

How to Play

The EPIC aim of this deck is to nail an unsuspecting player with Hidetsugu's Second Rite. All the burn, and even that little lifegain from stream of life, can bring your opponent right where you want them.

The deck is equally capable of winning without the rite. Use your defenders to ramp into massive burn spells.

Finally, this deck is annoying in one-on-one, but absolutely soul crushing in multiplayer. You can play off the conflicts between your opponents. They will never know when you might drop a massive 10 damage spell. Probably at the worst possible moment. And if they question why you are giving them life ...

As a nod to the overwhelming odds you will most likely face in multiplayer, you will find circle of flames and electrickery in the sideboard.

Deck discussion for Buget/Epic: Controlled Burn

Second Rite...i made a deck like this, way back...but took it apart.

Land to consider, Grove of the Burnwillows. If your opponent is under 10 life, it can help gain them back to 10 life.
Little extra support for Stream of Life.

Pyrohemia is worth a look...it can easily be used to get the 10 life.

I'll look at Pyrohemia.

MAN, Grove of the Burnwillows costs a lot.

Crap, 41 bucks a piece!!!
Wtf! It is a decent card...but not worth 40 bucks!!!
Doesn't even look like any card I own (looking at a screen shot of the card)!

Must be because it's part of "From the Vault: 20"

Yep, just checked a price of a booster pack! What a joke!!!

So, if the card was from another expansion, what would the price be, 5 bucks? Lame!

Hmm .... it's arguably better than the dual lands that damage oneself for g/r decks ... I'd say 7$.

It's not even like Fehelloran Elves or whatever.

Wow. Grove is crazy expensive. Then again, the deck is only 15 dollars. If you've got the money, it could be cool as a one-of. Other than that, I love the deck. I would only recommend it as a one-of because if you use it too much, your opponent's life total might get to some awkward number, like 11. Also, the name is freaking awesome.

Pyrohemia. That is why i suggested it...if they have life, say at 11.

Yup ... perfect in large games.

Circle of Flames, Pyrohemia = all your creatures are dead :)

Hm.

Evil combo would be Magister Sphinx but that puppy is expensive and has all the colours you don't run ... speaking of that, why don't you play white!? You would have access to many, many spells that give you opponent life but ones that are considerably better than Stream of Life. Seriously now, if your opponent has 5 life left, you would have to waste 6 mana and a card to heal him to 10 life just so you can burn him with Second Rite ... would be easier to just burn him for 5, right? Here, have a look at those:
- Reward the Faithful
- Wall of Shards
- Swords to Plowshares
- Condemn

Shock => Lightning Bolt
Lighting Strike => Punishing Fire (helps counteract the life you give)
Blaze => Disintegrate, Fireball, Red Sun's Zenith, Banefire, Devil's Play, I don't know, anything is better than Blaze

You don't run any artifacts (well, Cathedral) nor enchantments but also no artifact or enchantment removal. And this is for multiplayer, right? Fracturing Gust is what you want.
