Deck Description

I had two main goals when making this deck:

1. Create a functional white/green EDH deck, with an emphasis on not getting mana screwed, since I can't afford a proper mana base on the budget.
2. Do it for under $25, including the price of the commander (around $2).

How to Play

This deck is mean to out-cast your opponent. Bet on your opponent's EDH not having a god hand. Plenty of removal and time-delaying enchantments and instants keep you opponent busy.

On the other hand, the plethora of cheap units and mana generation will ensure that you can play most all of the 14 cards you will draw in the first 7 turns. Most of your creatures will annoy the heck out of your opponent by offering utility - mana-generation, self-sacrifice abilities, and buffs - without requiring much, if any, mana to be spent.

Deck discussion for For Great Glory EDH

From personal experience of the few games of EDH that I have played, this mana curve looks dangerously low. Most EDH games that I have played go until turn 20+, and so to use a deck more effectively, I would recommend looking at some late game cards.

Understood. I WAS trying to make it low, but considering the sheer amount of ramp as well ... I will flood myself often.

I know quite a bit about late-game white cards, but do you have any suggestions for green monsters?

And would spells with strive be a pretty good way to burn off some of that mana?

The first two that pop into my head are Worldspine Wurm and Heroes' Bane.

And yeah, I suppose Strive could work well here.

Hehehehe .... do you think your opponents will concentrate on Heroes' Bane or Angelic Skirmisher if both are on the field?

Well I suppose that would depend on how large you have managed to pump Hero up to. In an EDH game you could pretty easily get him to crazy big numbers and just blast the opponent. So, in that case then I think Hero would be the option to choose. But, I suppose that would be a tough decision.

gorgon's head and/or gorgon flail would be fun to use on your wolf token. and swiftfoot boots should be in most edh decks. for the mana base u can use evolving wilds, terramorphic expanse, and terminal moraine. bow of nylea would be good to

Alright ... swiftfoot boot, whispersilk cloak, and company are going in to protect my commander.

I only can use one of each of those cards .... and will put them in if they don't break the budget.

I somehow feel proud watching that someone is able to create something quite as cheap as my decks.
But anyways, it seems you have two cards remaining to fill the deck completely, and I thought that maybe removal could be good choice. You are also entering the-budget-deadline, so I guess I'm keeping it cheap then.

First good EDH removals that came to my mind are Oblivion Ring and Day of Judgment.
Oblivion Ring can handle anything, while Day of Judgment wipes the table. Boardwipe is always a good idea in EDH.

I must needs overhaul this deck with beefy creatures. Any ideas? I'm looking for across-the-field buffs

What, stuff like Ordeal of Heliod? or stuff like Giant Growth? Or stuff like Rancor?

Beefy buff up you want? Beefy buff up you get.

Collective Blessing.
Heck yeah. That card surely knows how to unleash hell. It makes your one drops into at least 4/4s!

Gaea's/Glorious Anthem.
Run both if you want. Both are great.

Overrun.
"Nature doesn't walk."

Overwhelming Stampede.
Overrun on drugs.

Marshal Anthem.
Gives you buff up while it also can reanimate your dead.

Dictate of Heliod.
Flash +2/+2 to everyone? Yes please!

Hope I helped.

Oh, shit, sorry if I offended you or whatever. I'm just excited to see what Battlefield Tramaturge can do. Take all the time you need.

Oh ... if you want to see him, one of the mtg devs wrote a whole article about him. It was called Battlefield Thamaturgy, I think.

I'd ditch some creatures and add in more ramp. You only have 33 lands, most decks run 36-40 lands total plus a few mana rocks and ramping.

Advice taken. Expect a major overhaul soon.
