Deck Description

Challenge: go make a deck with as many artifacts as possible. Inspired by text on Obsianus Golem.

For you Northy, my ridiculous throwback to OP artifacts. I hope you enjoy. Your opponent might not.

Come to the dark side. Jace has cookies. Plus Crosis's Attendant looks like Iron Man.

How to Play

Rely on your 0 mana artifacts and artifact lands to pump out a truly ridiculous number of artifacts by turn 2 or 3. For example, if you star with 3 no cost artifact creatures, 1 chronomaton, and an artifact land, you can have 5 artifacts on the field on turn one! (3 no costs + 1 creatures + 1 land = 5 artifacts). You will then proceed to steamroll your opponent with larger quantities of artifact creatures. How?

Many cards in this deck have an affinity for artifacts. This deck makes them come in earlier and cost less than their "normal" counterparts. PAs an added bonus, these cards are a steal!

Frogmite is another cheap artifact. He can be an easy 1 mana on turn 2 or 3.
Thoughtcast is tons of fun. Trust me.
Cranial plating boosts an innocent golem into a beast.
Darksteel forge is very hard to deal with.
Academy Ruins resurrects your artifacts.

To de-budgetize this deck, add Sol Ring and Tolarian Academy. I am confident that Tolarian Academy is completely broken. Heck, Tolria West can summon it if you didn't happen to draw it.

Pump the extreme mana into Colossus of Akros. This setup can push that guy out on turn 3 or 4, and make him monstrous the next turn. Yikes.

Deck discussion for Song of the Artificer

Sol Ring was not printed in a modern legal version. The ones with the modern card border are only from special sets like commander, which isn't modern legal, otherwise we would be seeing a lot of TNN in modern:)

but even if Sol Ring was printed in a modern set it would have been banned for sure.

No, you need black mana to equip it at instant speed. Its equip cost is 1.

no memnite/myr enforcer/mycosynth golem?
and how about thoughtcast or assert authority or stoic rebuttal?

Memnite is just not as good in a defensive role as Ornithopter and Phyrexian Walker. 3 no cost creatures are a little difficult for the deck to manage. I will look at those other cards.

I could not find mycosynth golem. I did find Karn, Silver Golem, Golem Foundry, and Golem's Heart.

I would like some opinions on including Golem's Heart and Golem Foundry. Do they belong?

Also, should I run Darksteel Forge, or Colossus of Akros? Or be evil and run both?

i Don't think Golem's Heart is worth it, but golem foundry could be interesting:)
also, i feel you are better of with myr enforcer than frogmite, you are not going to have a hard time getting him out with all your cheap and free artifacts.

Thank you for your advice.

What do you think about Cathodion? Should I bring another Vedalken artificer?

i don't think cathodion is worth it, have you seen shimmer myr? flashing in something like darksteel forge on a shatterstorm or something similar seems like too much fun:) or you could add some black sources, then flash i your plating on an unblocked attacker:)

Hmm ... I think I will go with Vedalken Engineer in place of Sol Ring and Grand Architect in place of Cathodion.

Dude ... Golem Foundry + Sensei's Divining Top (2) + Ethurium Sculptor = Infinite Golems

doesn't work, you can't redraw sensei's top

Why not? If you use it's second ability .... you just need 2.
