Deck Description

A RUG midrange deck for Standard.
Master Biomancer is my favorite card out of Gatecrash! I needed to play him in standard, and, since RUG is my favorite color combo, I thought, why not?
So, with this deck, Im looking for a turn 3 Biomancer followed by a turn 4 Huntmaster. 2 4/4's for 4 mana? Seems good. It gets even more ridiculous when you can throw a rancor on Biomancer.... Your creatures get a little crazy after that.

By the way.... My Thundermaw's name is Bubbles.
Can't seem to get my sideboard fixed here though....

Comments and suggestions are appreciated!

EDIT: Removed 2 Borderland Ranger for 2 Wolfir Silverheart

Deck discussion for RUG "Bubbles"

I played this in an Open Qualifier on Saturday. . . . Didn't do so hot.
Round 1: Naya Humans. 2-1
Round 2: RDW. 0-2
Round 3: Naya Agro. 1-2
Round 4: Selesnya Agro: 2-1
Round 5: RDW. 1-2

All in all, I had a very tough time with fast-paced decks...

Im thinking about taking one Thrag, one rancor, and the clan defiance out. Replaced with 2 Wolfir Silverheart and a third bonfire.

I would remove red and refocus the deck, its built on a good idea, the treats are off though, theres plenty of big green threats to play, and with all the counters I would think about UBG with the hydra, Fathom Mage, Necropolis, Corpesjack, and some control.

I'd sooner take out borderland ranger than thrag and clan defiance. Wolfir silverheart helps a lot, and borderland ranger is kinda unnecessary with arbor elf and farseek. You wanna skip three drops anyway. Bubbles is awesome, btw. If I could afford him I'd run two also.

Thanks for your input!
I do find myself on turn 3, looking at Biomancer and Ranger in hand, and thinking "Why do I have you Ranger?"
So, I agree in that sense. As for the clan defiance, do you think I should play a 1 of that still or replace it with a third Bonfire? In either case, why?

I like clan defiance a lot. Having too many bonfire increases the chance of it in your opening hand, whereas clan defiance is fine in an opening hand. Bonfire is better, but running more than 2 is risky. I'd probably go two of each honestly. Both have their game winning moments. For example, I clan defianced a grixis control deck for 10 yesterday. Bonfire wouldve been 5...

how about searing spear? it would help you stabilize the first few turns before you are able to cast thrag or hunt master or biomancer.

i made a similar deck... but playing 4 colors. kindly comment if you have the time.

Since you are already in the colors you might want to think of running the staticcaster+peddler combo in here. Not only are they really good in the mid range perspective allowing you to have an answer to any threat, it also solves your early game problems. Caster+ peddler destroys aggro.
