it translates into to call lives. vocare meaning to call or to summon, and vitae being lives in the nominative case or of life in the genitive... voco ad vitam sounds good "i call to life"

if i were you i'd take out diabolic tutor vampire decks are made to run on low mana and their draws if you can't then you shouldn't make it... that's just my opinion. I made my vampire deck to run so that i can rig the deck. you have viscera seer and sacrifice bloodgast and then bring him back with a land but you get to scry 1 with virtually no consequences except his summoning sickness if you are over 10 life. here's my deck http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=200035 take any ideas you like

the only thing i would do i take out one of both hero of bladehold and oxid ridge and put in something a little small mana cost wise just to throw the mana curve into your favor. Ardent Recruit possibly,Glint Hawk, but Goblin Wardriver would be my best reccomendation.

viscera seer with bloodgast gives you complete deck control and dross can give you 32 life with your opponent starting at 8 night hawk isn;t a bad idea but nocturnus isn't how this deck is going to win blood seekers maybe... idk
ugh sounds really annoying...
the only reason i have it is incase i don't have my fireballs. Like they get countered or something of that nature... but you are correct it would be wise... but i feel that would make the mana a bit lopsided what do you think?
