My actual Burning Vengeance deck that I run in local FNM tourneys. ------------------------------------------------------------- Side Board: Spellskite -- Helps deal with spot Articaft/Enchantment removal, like Acidic Slime, when trying to protect my BV. Also makes a great early game blocker as well as defends me from small burns. Gut Shot -- Like Geistflame, it is a spot on removal for small creatures in the metagame right now. And it can be played turn-0 when I still have yet to play mana or am tapped out. Whipflare -- The pyroclasm of the format right now. Token Decks cry at this card if they arent buffed my IV or HotP yet. Ratchet Bomb -- Amazing removal to deal with a variety of problems from tokens to big creature, and from enchantments to planeswalkers. Surgical Extraction -- To be used against grave-based decks, like other Burning Vengeance decks or Undying decks. Nihil Spellbomb -- Same reason as Extraction. Negate -- Counter against control decks that will try to stop me from playing BV or simply trying to counter anything I play. Devil's Play -- Flashback Fireball is always useful as a win-con in the case that BV doesn't cut it. But I personally wouldn't main-deck it. If it looks like I may need to use it, I will side it in. Sever the Bloodline -- Amazing token removal and worth at least a 1-of in the deck because of the flashback you may as well be running 2.
