Deck Description

This was a deck that I was going to make then buy, thats why there are only a couple lands and very few spells, i would actually have:
4x searing spear
2x pillar of flame
4x murder
4x One drop 1/2 that I forgot name of
As many islands, Swamps, mountains needed.

I just wanted some people to look over this budget deck and make sure that I have this right and good.

Personally, as a budget deck, i think it is perfect. Althought i would go forr 4x Nicol Bolas.

Also, you should think about making a sideboard. Possibly with some chandras, jaces, and lilliana cards?

I too am struggling with a budget Nicol Bolas deck. I do like the inclusion of Slumbering Dragons, as it only costs one-mana, and acts as a deterrent . Also, I hadn't thought of the Gem of Becoming, so thanks for that.

Over-all you and I are going for two different approaches. The only "problem" I see with this deck, is that it only has 8 creatures. I've found that a reduced number of creatures can present challenges early on, when facing faster creature-based decks. But having a lot of cheap counters should help in the early game. I personally would try to find a way to boost the creature count, with maybe some cheap blockers like Fog Bank. That way you have some breathing room, and can save your counters/cancels for the more dangerous threats.

Otherwise, sweet deck, with some good ideas. Good luck!

Not trying tot be mean, but IF I was going to make this deck then buy it( which was my plan) I was going to add more creatures.
