I'm not quite sure how to play test it, besides writing each card out in pen on paper and then putting the paper into sleeves. But i would suggest, if you're not worried about it being standard legal, you look at Tome Scour and Glimpse the Unthinkable. Both excellent mill cards.

I was thinking about using the ancients, as i remember 2 white, 2 colerless cost for a 2/10, i just didn't want to hinge everything on getting Doran out, even though with several fetcher mechanisms in the deck, i probably could. i was also trying to decide whether throwing some slagwurm armor's in there could be worthwhile.
Yeah, i think for the most part, i was looking for filler cards...nearly every deck i've built was from the bulked cards i had gotten over the years from booster packs. I do like your deck a lot though. It reminded me of a lot of cards that i had seen, but forgotten about, or even used in a different deck. I have 2 tempered steel's that i have in my sunburst deck that i didn't even really remember.
I tried out the Pawn of Ulamog, and found it not as useful as i would've hoped. The Geosurge could be helpful, but i have no problems with mana production. I do thank you for the Brood Birthing idea, as i had not yet seen that card.
I must say...i've seen this deck in action..and it is quite infuriating.
