Need a better token maker. Army of the Damned is really expensive to cast and its going to take two turns to make all those tokens after you cast Essence. Unless you can pump out land faster.

if you make it white instead of black you get access to cards like gather the townsfolk, and midnight haunting, which become amazing if essence is out. also check out ambush viper, it can be used to "flash out an essence of the wild" as well as being a flash deathtouch otherwise.
Its a good trick especially if essence is the only thing you have on your field and they expect you to block with it
My first draft had them but my concern was surviving mass removal... I should make it G/W/b with gather and midnight... What do you think? Oh and black is for Tragic Slip and Undying Evil... Their synergie with Birthing Pod is great.
