Since milling seems to be your crutch, you should add increasing confusion with all the mana axebane guardian will give you

seems you liked the use of ludevics test subject..... i have mine in main board from a deck i posted earlier today called Mikeys Revenge..... that thing is beastly.... but my mill is blue with a splash of white... need those counters to portect my baby eggs :)

Yeah, the test subjects are kind of awesome. They're useful in a deck like this if I need the extra defender, or some sudden power. The reason i feel like counters are less pertinent is that the #1 board wipe that you're going to see now is uncounterable anyway, so holding on to that Negate isn't going to do you much good. At that point, you just build back up, and hope to mill away.
