Deck Description

Yeah, my 3rd attempt at making a good mono-red human deck... I've been on a major Human streak recently...

Deck discussion for Mono-Red Humans, mark III

I like it. It's straightforward. Consider the Zealous Conscripts however, they make for a really nasty surprise and they fit your theme.

I agree here, 2 of them can make for a good surprise on turn 5 :D

I've been working on a mono R human deck too, I like the idea a lot.. In the end it turned out R/U, but I still would like to see a mono R work.

I'd concider switching pillar of flame for Gut Shot, just so that you can get the Stormblood in on round 2.
I'd also concider switching Somberwald Vigilante to Stonewright as they can be very usefull even mid-late game.

I personally also prefer Kruin Striker to Riot Ringleader, mainly because of the trample, and paired with Lancer or Stonewright he becomes really nasty.

I'd also reduce somethings to 3 instead of 4 to get total land count up to 22 or 23.

I'm gonna keep checking in here because like I said, I'd really want to see a mono R human deck as cool as possible :D

I really like Pillar of Flame in standard. To me, it is just a great card to deal with so many different problems, such as Undying creatures, and a few other nuisances. I have been having a bit of a debate between the Vigilante and Stonewright. The reason that I go with the Vigilante is that he is basically unblockable in earlier turns, or will at least clear out a creature. My choice of the Ringleader over Kruin Striker is actually a huge one for me. The Ringleader will give buffs to ALL of your humans, even if you don't play a creature that turn, as long as you attack with it. Kruin Striker only gives the +1/+0 to itself, and only if you play a creature. Plus, the Striker only has that little 1 toughness, which doesn't give it much staying power, especially if it doesn't have First Strike.

Cool, I see your arguments as very valid :) Gut shot would still help out your berserker very good tho :)

The way I think with Kruin striker opposed to Ring leader is that both of them will most likely only get to attack once and get blocked/killed. And unless you have a lot of other humans out that will come through and deal damage, odds are that early in the game Kruin will deal the more damage.

Later on however, if you havent gotten DoJ'ed or similar the Ringleader will ofc be better.

If you don't mind I'd love to get some input on my current Project - W/R Humans :)
